Looks good to me. Not sure about the big units of zombies though, do you expect that they would do well like that? I would imagine increasing the unit sizes through magic would be a bit more cost effective and you could pick where the big units are a little better. Then again, I have not played with VC, only against. Good luck.

Too much magic for my liking with 10 power dice + periapt + bound. Agree zombie units seem too big - I'd reduce them to 15 and use the points to get some more units of things like ghouls and wolves.
I'm guessing you mean banner of the dead legion? Banner of the undying legion is a TK item. -------------------- |

With 25 as a base size the zombie units can swell to epic proportions to tie stuff up for many turns. The banner is dead legion (edited). The magic is a bit OTT but it is to counter my extreme bad luck.

You really need more small annoying units, a couple of units of gouls would be useful not to mention at least one unit of wolves in the standard 2000pts list. Maybe take away some zombies to achieve this.

I agree with Bucket, you need some small anoying units (they are a massive pain)
To fit them i'd drop the zombies down to 20 each as you are intent on large starting sizes. You have enough magic to be able to raise more during the game. -------------------- What's the matter Colonel Sanders? Chicken? -Dark Helmet

The magic is a bit OTT but it is to counter my extreme bad luck. That's right up there with the stupidest justifications ever... why don't you go the whole hog and say it's "themey"... As for actual advise... IMO the count is better than the lord simply because undead generally have a pile of crappy useless units backed up by one unit with uber character. Take the count so you can have another choppy character and spread the love a bit more. Agreed it needs more little units and big units of zombies are dumb. Zombies will die... you don't have anything to back them up with so essentially all i have to do is hit them with something and win till you go away and i get 265pts. If your wasting magic dice to keep me there even better! IMO better to have 2 units of no more than 15 to back up your generals units of 15 skellies. The only command goes into the generals skellies who get full and the zombies just suck up the extra 1 death a turn from res to save me 100pts when they inevitably die. I don't know what banner of the dead legion does to knights but i know it doesn't make me hit on 3's, give me +1 combat res or a 5+ ward save so i know it's no good. Spirit hosts, nyah, maybe you've had better experiences under 7th ed than i have... If i read correctly you have a rare slot left over... one rare slot too many IMO. I'd be taking advantage of the Dogcon system by sticking a black coach in one detachment, i.e the one for opponents who DON'T have Str7... it has a bad rap but given the right situation is gold. Easily better than detachment 1. 6 fellbats is an issue for contention. Personally i run 2 units of 4 and have never regretted it. One unit they can concentrate on, 2 units is a biatch because they have to split. Essentially then i'd replace detachment 1 completely with a coach. Replace detachment 2 with 8 bats and a unit of dogs. Stick another unit of dogs into my main list along with 2 units of ghouls with points taken from stripping the zombie blocks back to the basics and completely scapping the unit of 10. Then fix the banner and the character config and it's all good i reckons! -------------------- NEWIE BOYZ

For those playing along at home, the banner of the dead legion is the one that gives +d6 extra unit strength.
I have to agree about the black coach in one of your detachments; remember that it is physically impossible for wood elves to get strength 7 |

Treeman with great weapon? That would be to ridiculous.
The coach does sound like a good idea though. -------------------- |
