I'm not involved in the event but it was posted under the 40K Tournament Rankings forum by Grand Skale.

Whitsunday Warzone 2008

WHITSUNDAY WARZONE 2008

The Whitsunday Wargamer's Club presents a Warhammer 40k Tournament on the 29th and 30th of March 2008 at the Proserpine RSL.

Contestants will play 3 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday. Games will be played from 8.30 to 11.00, 11.30 to 14.00 and on Saturday only from 14.30 to 17.00 with presentations to commence at 14.30 on Sunday. All games must end at the allocated times if not before for the correlation of results to be done. Please arrive at the hall before 8.00 and be ready to start before 8.30. All games will be played on standard 6' x 4' tables and terrain will be placed and may not be relocated for any reason. All players must bring all equipment required to play games, which includes miniatures, dice, your army codex, a rulebook, and any piece of information from White Dwarf or other sources that you need. The tournament will be staged
in the hall above the Proserpine RSL Club at 27 Chapman Street in Proserpine.

It is preferable to hand in your army lists before the 20th of March for inspection. Army rosters will be accepted on the day however. Please bring a copy for yourself to play with. The army must show all selections, weapon upgrades and wargear in your army and be broken down into force organizations as well as points costs and percentages for each army slot. Ensure that your name is on the list. Any errors in your army list must be corrected before playing any games so make certain it is legal. Army lists may be sent any of the following ways:
Mailed to 23 Moonlight Drive, Jubilee Pocket 4802.
Emailed to spri6757@bigpond.net.au
Faxed to 07 4948 1944.

You must use the army exactly as it is on your army list for each game and all miniatures must be Citadel models. It is not essential to have a fully painted army, although it will obviously improve your chances of taking home a prize. WYSIWYG will be enforced and any model not complying with this rule cannot be used!

The point limit is set between 1995 and 2005 points and only one detachment is permitted. The tournament uses a minimum force organization of 1 HQ and 2 Troops. Any material from any source that is relevant to your army must be accessible during the games. All Special Characters are allowed. No vehicle design rules for any armies are permitted. Imperial Guard Armoured Company's are allowed. No Forge World Imperial Armour of any type may be used unless approved by the tournament supervisor. If your army specifically allows allies in the codex or a supplementary list, then they are allowed. Deathwatch is permitted providing you have the necessary rules. Space Marines may use Drop Pods. Jungle Fighting and Cities of Death rules will not be employed.

The scenarios will be the same as those listed on page 81 of the 40k rulebook in a random order. Deployment will be done according to each mission specific rules. Gamma special rules will be in effect for every game.

Sportsmanship will be awarded for each game by each opponent as directed by the NTS guidelines. Please keep these points to yourself and be prepared to justify your response.

Army selection will be judge under NTS3 guidelines. Points are scored according to the following criteria:
Was the army list handed in on time?
Is the army list correct?
Does the army have more troops selections than any other single category?
Do the units and characters have names, designations etc?
Does troops selection amount to a minimum of 33% of the total army points?
Does the army have two full strength troop choices or the desired amount?
Does the army have less than 33% of total points spent on fast attack, heavy support or elite? This is for each category not a
total of all categories.
Have you spent less than 20% on wargear from your armoury page?
Does the army meet a theme?
Is your army one of the top three?

Army appearance will be judged by NTS3 guidelines. Points are scored according to the following criteria:
Has there been an honest effort put into painting this army?
Are all the models completely painted?
Are both the above criteria met?
Are the models based?
Does the army feature insignia, camo scheme, etc?
Do the characters and centre pieces stand out?
Does the army look uniform?
Has there been attention to detail?
Has the army been painted above an average standard?
Is your army one of the top three?

The overall scores will be broken down as follows:
60% Generalship
20% Sportsmanship
10% Army Selection
10% Army Painting

The overall winner of the tournament will be the person with the highest combined points score. Second, third, fourth and fifth places overall are next followed by sportsmanship, best overall army and best neophyte. No one competitor may win more than one award.

The first round of games will be determined randomly after which you will play against the person closest to you on the ladder. Nobody will play against the same person twice and where ever possible you will not play against someone from your area or club.

Entry fees are $35 and payable, by cheque, money order, direct deposit or in cash, before 8.00 on Saturday 29/3/08. Places are limited to 44 so if it is possible to pay earlier you will avoid disappointment.

First place will win prizes to the value of $200. Second place will win prizes to the value of $150. Third, fourth and fifth place, best sportsman, best army and best neophyte will each winprizes to the value of $100.

I can be contacted on 49480021 or 49481933 for any questions or you can email at the above address.

Just wondering if all these details still apply for the 2009 event.

Thanks.
