New list, another variation... how's this one... Ambush, magic, and the magic undivided re-roll for psyk checks on one unit...
Beastlord - MoTZ, STaff of Damnation, Ambush Horn, GW, HA Bray Shaman - Spell Familiar, Dispel Scroll, Chaos Armour, Braystaff 3 x Chariots 2 x 5 Chaos Hounds 2 x Beast Herds (small) 1 x Beast Herd (big) 12 x Tzaangor - Full Command, Banner of Wrath 2 x 4 Minotaurs - MoTZ, Standard 2 x 3 Ogres - GW, Musician How does it look, comp wise, effectiveness wise, funness wise? Actually, it looks more entertaining but less effective than the other workings of the army i've put together, except possibly one khorne variant i was considering, but 3 phases is better than 2 so lets trial this one ey? Definitly has some hitting power, could suffer a bit through lack of ranks but if you get a combined charge in you could really screw up some units.
What happened to the Tomb Kings you were so eager to take to Cancon? -------------------- |

you have to either give your doombull mark of khorne or have your minos unmarked/undivided which then gives you no magic defence and leaves you in a bit of a hard spot against a lot of things - on the plus side it saves some points
i dont really see the point of having chaos ogres if your going to have minos, sure they have a better armour save but i think there are more useful things you could take to give your army more variety, like maybe swap one lot of 3 ogres for some furies to give you something to make your opponent think about war machine deployment and the like, maybe sqap another for some spawns - very good with the mark of khorne S5 D6 +1 attacks can rip through a lot and if not its unbreakable so who cares, i also find a unit of 3 trolls can be really good just because of the regen although the 4 S5 attacks help - stupidity is a bitch but keep the doombull nearby and youll be ok i think the herd sizes are a bit strange, the one less gor for each herd just confuses me. with the small herds your running the risk of being easily panicked so maybe cut out one herd to increase the others - add more ungors for cheap bodies to keep you from losing 25%, and get a foe render in at least some of them, the extra Ld is well worth it, the other extras are a good bonus too just an opinion from my expereinces with beasts - i am by no means an expert on them good luck with the list though |

Can't take furies cause they are in the hordes book. Chaos players have to stick to one book at cancon (only one book, thats a novel idea
Really like the list, has a lot of punch and a lot of flexibility with the herds and dogs. I would prob lose a unit or two of ogres and get some beast chracters in there, esp a bsb. Losing 2 units of ogres would still give you a lot of hitting power and enable you to get a bsb and maybe a khorne spawn or two -------------------- If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving probably isn't for you.

Just check the cancon restrictions Chris - you may need to mark the big fella as I think all things that can be marked must be marked the same if you take any non undivided stuff.
As said in the PM, I think the list looks effective enough although not sure how fun it will be to play for 8 games without any shooting or magic... -------------------- |

Great to see another Beast force for Cancon,
As previously mentioned the Doombull has to be marked. Lots of diversionary units and a few choice crunch units. Shooting armies are always going to be a challenge. good luck, feel free to give me your ten cents on my Nurgle list. Cheers Craig -------------------- Darth.Crag

One thing that stood out to me Chris was that the only units you have for the mages are the small herds. And that means 3 dead ungors and your going to have to cop a panic test. One of the biggest problems I find with the BOC is that with 3-4 characters, you are struggling to find units to place them in, unless you go heavy on the herds which are fairly soft

I agree with cephery
Any Khorne army can be lead around by the nose ring due to the frenzy shenanigans. so i would but more screen units in ether list. -------------------- Darth.Crag

I honestly think the doombull is the worst of the character options he will get absolutely peppered by missile fire, you can give him no additional items so he dies regularly and it takes away the ability to ambush.
That said if I was going to take him – I’d go khorne so as to avoid having to pay for magic defence but be warned things will go horribly wrong when opponents can pull you out of position. To counter this a little I started running them 3 wide if the opponent’s list had enough to deal with the screening units so that when they got flanked they had 2 minos to attack back. As for the ogres I’d switch them out for some centigor which I think would be invaluable to this list as a screening and flanking unit. |

I think the bray shaman is not going to be allowed in this list Chris under my limited understanding of the chaos restrictions. Also unless the items are from the same book as the army would be something else to check. I would try and fit in a BSB with Mark of Tzeentch. Beef up the Tzaangor. Drop the Ogres. Add another big herd. Add Firewyrm. Then it is all marked. Assuming you can break rule about number of power dice due to list posted. |

I think a BSB will bring more to the tabel also - so long as you can fit both under the 500 point mark.
