IG autogun suggestions? Options

Well, looking at starting another IG army... Yes - that's "another" - and this one I'm basing on plastic cadians with some gas mask/rebel heads from pig-iron products - a bit of cutting shoulders and chests and I'll drape them with a bit of a hood and remove the armour.

But, since it seems to fit my theme - I want autoguns! Anyone have suggestions for either:
1) Some alternative weapons and where I can get them
2) Some cool conversions I could do instead

You might be able to get the sprues from necromunda with autoguns on them. There's also the forgeworld renegade kit with autoguns but I'd go for a much simpler option & convert lasguns. Here's a couple of easy ones I've seen that look good:

i used some bits from the Starship troopers game for Auto guns on my Tau Human Auxiliaries.



I also had an idea for Auto gun plastic storm troopers for my Guard using the Plastic Marine Scout sprews and a Kroot Rifle end. (didn’t end up doing more)



Couple of things you could do for conversion also are. Cut the "lenses" bit off a las gun and add a Bolter clip to. Or cut the barrel off almost to the base leaving just a small nub of the barrel on the end.

One conversion i tried but never used was the Alien Pulse Rifle conversion. You use a Cadian las gun and a bolter "grip" and some cutting. You basically end up with this.



The only reason i didn’t do more was because i was too lazy to try and convert them all

Now if your lucky you might be able to find some of the old necromunda weapon sprews. They have a very sweet auto gun that i have used for my guard. And another one that looks alright but not as cool as the first.



However since GW have stopped their bits service it might be a bit hard to get them. However if you can its well worth it imo

Do a search for user sheep either here on WAU or over at WarSeer and you'll find all manner of glorious modern military firearms conversions based around the plastic Cadian lasgun.

Cheers guys - BC, I'll probably steal that idea, with a little editing - maybe a curved bolter mag instead would look cool...

And I intend to shamelessly rip off your storm troopers some day Turbo! (But instead of the kroot rifle they may end up with the alien pulse rifles, so I'll call that doubly ripping off your idea!)

Do a search for user sheep either here on WAU or over at WarSeer and you'll find all manner of glorious modern military firearms conversions based around the plastic Cadian lasgun.

Well, while I admit finding the pic/links here on WAU may prove to be tricksy, you mustn't have looked very hard on WarSeer as sheep's only got one project log there and one of his excellent lasgun->autogun conversions on Page 1!

Pretty sure there's a whole slew of different designs throughout the log.
