What : Warhammer 40k 5th Edition, 3 Games

Scenarios : Coming Soon - based on 5th ed missions

The Important Bits
• 5th edition Warhammer 40,000 rules, plus all Codices and Chapter Approved rules (except where exempted below)

• 1,500 point army (conforming to the standard force organisation chart), plus one Objective (60mm base size).

• All miniatures MUST BE PAINTED and BASED. Unpainted miniatures CANNOT be fielded and will be removed from the table.

• Army Rosters must be submitted by 15th of September 2008 via email to ewaclub@gmail.com. Late rosters will be penalised. See the Army Selection section for more information.

• Please bring an additional copy of your Army Roster on the day to show your opponent, plus your Army Background to hand in with your name included.

• Don't forget to bring a tape measure, dice, rulebook, codex, templates & any special rules you intend to use.

• All current Codex armies and variants may be taken. If Chapter Approved list supercedes the Codex list, use the Chapter Approved instead.

• In addition, the following may be taken:
- Allies as specified in Codex Daemonhunters and Witch Hunters;
- Drop Pods may be taken but must be modelled;
- Flyers may be taken but will use the Apocalypse rules
- Vehicles from Imperial Armour (except listed below),
- Special or unique characters;

• The following may not be taken:
- Superheavies;
- anything with mass points or structure points;
- Gargantuan creatures;
- Apocalypse formations;
- Allies except as specified above;
- Vehicle Design Rules or Creature Design Rules;
- Chapter Approved Optional or Trial rules;
- Any rule which requires "opponent's consent".

• If in doubt about whether your army is legal, please ask first!

• Chapter Approved Rules FAQs will be used where appropriate. Please see the GW website. Players wishing to quote from a FAQ must provide a copy on the day.

5th Ed rules is something we will work out later, it will depend on when the rules become available so at this point is 4th Ed for the Tournament.

The tournament will use 5th edition rules. The scenarios will be worked out closer to the date and use 5th ed scoring rules/units.

- Flyers may be taken but will use the Apocalypse rules

Just a quick question reguarding the Apoc Rules and flyers.

In the rules it says "When Shot at, flying vehicles follow the same rules as skimmers moving over 12", so all penetrating hits against them are always downgraded to glancing hits."

Im just wondering if that rule is still in place for the tournament? 5th ed changed Fast skimmers to a 4+ to ignore the hit, so im just wondering what way the rule will be.

Ok. Just spent about 10 minutes reading through both Apoc and the new Rulebook.

When shooting at flyers, they will be shot as if they are skimmers moving over 12" as long as they are operating as flyers. This will effectively grant them the 4+ cover save from shooting.

If the have the hover mode ability and operate as a skimmer, then they will fall under the rules for shooting at a skimmer.

Sound fair?

Yep thats cool. I just wanted to know what way the rule was going to swing. Isent going to change my list any, just my tactics a little.

Ill Be test running my list on Friday (wont be around saturday) so if all works ill give it to you guys then.

Ill also be Handing in Chris Berkins List, but im not sure on the time frame for that. Ive told him about the dead line but since his Internet is down he is going to be sending it via SMS and then i have to translate from that!
