Hi all,

Just started taking out the individual models from the box and starting cleaning a few up (and removing the tags... I hate slotta tags for some reason).

Anyways, I only had a half hour so I only got my least favorite model done (the infernal ambassador).

As an aside, I have to say I really like every single fig in the demon box (i.e. high rating), the infernal ambassador is the only one which I have an "ok" rating (looks a little too typical demon). I.e. compared to infinity where approximately 25% of the starter I would rate as "high" on my likes list (Probably less than 10% for my 40k IG battleforce). The sculpts certainly did not disappoint in this regard.

My favorite is probably the following daemon of fury (Hahah probably will be replaced if I get the greater daemon of fury). Next would be the "puppet" lemure:

Anyways back on topic again. Cleaning up the ambassador told me two things about the figures.

Firstly, the detail on this scale is truly phenomenal when you see it. It isn't the case of attaching loads of additional items to the model, but more in the way the texture of the model is just really good. e.g. Rippling muscles, veins etc...

The metal seems to be decent. I have had no issues with metal fatigue so far (I had to re straighten a hook which as 90 degrees off).

My only issue with the miniatures is that I seem to get alot of flash on the infernal ambassador. By flash I mean parts of the mould line which would be about 2mm thick and around 1cm long and occasionally folded onto the mini. Its easy to remove as long as you know what you are looking for... Perhaps the moulds they are using needs to be replaced. Anyways, has anyone else encountered this? I had 2 areas of this on my infernal ambassador.

Finally, the bases provided seem to be identical to Warmachine bases except the slotta is smaller and closer to the back.

I will take bare metal pictures of the entire lot once I finish cleaning them. Have to say overall, the miniatures exceeded my high expectations... armata_PDT_37.gif

Regards,

Dennis

They are great minis.
My Saracen starter had one broken piece (a Pillar missing his sword) but that was quickly resolved and I now have a nice, shiny new one.
I really like the sort of 'integrated pins' that they seem to use. The little Eagle that comes with the Saracen Prince has really fine wings but they cast the body with holes and had pins on the wings so attaching them was a dream.
I agree that the detail and casting is great. No real mould lines on my guys to speak of and certainly none of the great lumps of stray metal that Rackham were so infamous for. The areas of flash you describe are probably from the mould not being under enough pressure for one reason or another and the metal is leaking out a bit. As you say though no great problem.
The bases are similar to the WM ones but the inset area seems shallower which is a tad annoying but no real problem.

I got three boxes from the Uk to use in my WHFB Daemon army.

Models seem to be true 25mm rather than GW 28mm.

They are very nice models, smaller than I expected but with lots of surface detail.
