Fabulous job... NOT.
What ever happened to the supposed co-ordination between Victorian TOs to ensure that there was no event overlap. It is bad enough that September is chock a block with events, and now someone goes and books one for the same weekend as Boot Camp which has been set on this date for months. NOT IMPRESSED! -------------------- QUOTE If a man is skateboarding down the sidewalk, is swooped by a pterodactyl and falls into the chest of a large-breasted albino somalian tax agent: Is that sexism??? |

Looks like my clubs tournament that they run every year in september is not going to get even close to enough players there without making a loss. |

It's also grand final weekend right? Not the best date for a victorian tournament.

Hi all
As a wise man once said, "Hind sight is 20/20!" As is the case with the original plans for Ghosts of War. Originally envisioned as a tournament to encourage new players to attend a tournament (as we no longer have a Conflict in VIC) the plan was to have a more 'open' event than the 'protective confines' of the old Conflict set-up. Getting new players to attend events is important to keeping the hobby community alive in VIC. Providing them with an event where they could rub shoulders with and play against veteran players was (in my mind) a great idea. The planning for the date was done by researching White Dwarf and seeing which months had the most 'holes' for a Premier Event. No insult was meant to any other TO out there. Purely a newbie mistake. Grand final weekend was a major oversight. Again, let's be nice and rate it a newbie mistake. Expect some 'more formal' info in the next few days, but it looks like the event will be cancelled anyway. P.S. Thanks heaps to 'Devourer of Souls' for kickstarting this forum topic for us. CHEERS! |
