Greetings everybody,
I came here following the advertisement in the August 2009 White Dwarf saying that a Team Tournament based on the rules that were presented in WD Magazine for the Warhammer World Team Tournament held each year in Nottingham in the U.K.. Yet Looking at things here I am now completely confused as the tournament is not as defined as it should be. Is it a team tournament where armies are made up of 2 individual players each playing a 1,000 or 2,000 pt army as part of a combined army per game (so 2 players a side per game, hence the team), or is the team side of things just the fact you rock on up to a normal tourney and depending on your army of choice depends on which 'team' you are playing for? The WD Tourney rules were the former, where you had 2 people make up armies that combined together to form a single force and then you played through the tournament as normal. Is it 2 people on each team each with half the force total each, each with a separate army thus combined together? Or Is it just a normal tournament where at the end of the day the SIDE with the most wins, wins and each player is playing by themselves with a 2,000pt army and no co-general as well? What's with this campaign element? By 2 heavy Support choices and one extra of elite or FA is that for both armies combined or just one army? Can we have an actual step by step make the army rules-set because that would make everything so much simpler rather then referring to a WD or other thing. Cheers, A.T. |

This event is teams divided into order and disorder. So about 6-7 people per side.
So each player has the 2000 points or so per person. the campaign element is that in previous years you would carry your losses over between games, get reinforcements and there were some games that would effect later games. -------------------- Fortune Cookie Wisdom: Don't use a hatchet to remove a fly from the forehead of your friend

If you cast your eyes upon the stickies threads you will find the ENTIRE PLAYERS PACK which is currently WIP I believe - the final product will be ready by the s4th August.
In short, everyone is divided into the order vs disorder teams, then the play individual battles and whichever team wins more games wins. On top of that there are various campaign style elements that tweak the in game rules slightly, to make things interesting... -------------------- Old Avatar WTB - unpainted CRYX Plastic Slayers (battlebox ones are perfect!) offering $20 pre-postage or I'm in sydney for Pickups |

Not sure about the what page in the August 09 White Dwarf but on the events page109 the reference to Tumult says and I quote Tumult - Warhammer 40,000 2000 points 5 games Team Based Tournament ( White Dwarf featured it in Feb 2009) expected players 28 see wargamerau So I could not find any references to Warhammer World Team Tournament. The things that make this a team event is that there is a Commander elected for each team, who decides how the strategic assessts are deployed, may coach players and tries to build team morale. In addition there are the strategic games that tie the strategic objectives into the campaign and map. Another point is that the whole winning team, ie each memeber, recieves a victor's medal. So while it may not fit into the Warhammer World Team style it is still a team event aussie style. Hope that helps. BTW - due to challenge of the lava terrain this year means resupply will be at 100%. The playes packs will be ready on the 24th August. Hope you can join us. Always open to questions. -------------------- Founding and Active Member of NSW Northern Knights Wargaming Club
