Hi!
I have been playing a few games and I am having big problems clearing our genestealers behind doors. My opponent simply camps behind the door with a 3 blip, then once the door is open one stealer spawns into the square next to my marine. Is it possible to shoot someone in the square next to you? I couldnt see anything against it in the rulebook. THis gives me at least a fighting chance, also makes a big difference if you are in overwatch and they move into the square infront of you, can i shoot at that action? |

Yes.
I think you can choose to shoot at point blank , shove a Storm bolter in the Gene Stealer's face and pull the trigger. Thats how my little bloke and I have been playing it. -------------------- "A sense of generosity under heavy fire is an admirable quality and the mark of a gentleman."

When in overwatch and your oponent opens a door you can shoot, you don't have to wait for the stealer to move a space, opening the door is an action, so you can fire!
When possible, I have been using the flamer for the stealer hiding behind the door problem, run up, open the door and burn the sneaky buggers! Burn coward stealers! Reward the brave ones with storm bolters! D |

You have to fire when on overwatch, no choice in the matter. So you can have a cheeky stealer opening and closing a door forcing a jam for the marine player. Was very annoying the first time someone did it to me. That is why shooting doors is a good thing to do with spare AP/CP

I try my best to shoot away every door I come across
For a SM in overwatch: when the stealer opens the door, the stealer is the target? is that right? when the stealer closes the door, the door is the target? Surely if the door is hit by rolling a 6 during overwatch the door is destroyed? Coercion, did you have bad luck rolling to destroy the door? Sorry Quimbi for the slight hijack! D |

Yep, dreadful luck.
Have the stealer hiding in the corner of a room opening a closing the door so the marine can't draw LoS is the safest way to do it. |

Even without a door you can do an ablative stealer charge down corridor to force a jam. Stealer dance back and forth then ducks down a side corridor if it doesn't die. If it forces a jam it ducks out of the way so the stealers with more APs for attacking behind it can move straight through to the now jammed marine. Obviously if it dies you ablate with another stealer... you've got plenty
For the OP, unless you _have_ to move through that door immediately for some reason (and even if you do and have CPs) remember you _can_ step backwards, you can either back off and overwatch, or back off and shoot the door out. @OP - Yeah, you can certainly shoot a Genestealer in an adjacent square to your Marine....shoot the f@#k right out of that little turd man...
@OW shot at closing doors - Yeah, this was FAQ'd. I thought it was a bit of a dumb decision as the Genestealer is NOT in LOS at the completion of it's action...and I'm sure a Marine with all his Tech, even though he is trigger happy on OW, would be able to hold his fire at a closing door....but hey, the rules are the rules -------------------- “Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jewelled thrones of the Earth under his sandaled feet.”
