Hey All,
I present TripE IV Saturday the 5th of December Good Games Canberra Units 1-2 15 Sidney Nolan ST Conder ACT (above and behind the Aldi carpark) 1200pts (1 Standard Force Org Chart, Single detachment - included for you Aeon) 4 Games 60% Battle 15% Comp 15% Paint 10% Sports 9am Start time 2 hours per round $20 Entry Fee (includes 1 free Coffee/Hot Chocolate or Cold Drink) Lists Due Wednesday 2nd of December email to armylists@kimberandscott.com.au Payment can be made in Person at Good Games or via Bank Deposit/Transfer St George Bank Kimber & Scott Pty Ltd BSB 112879 Acct No 473564164 Please use TripE05 and Your First Name and Surname Initial as a reference. For Example I would Use TripE05 Brad S Battle 120pts (30 Per Round) Draw 12-12 Small Win 16-8 Big Win 20-4 Really Big Win 24-0 Secondary Mission 6 Comp 30pts The TO and Each Opponent will rate your army on the following scale Shocking Army - This army deserves no points. It is an over the top win at all costs list. It is capable of not only winning by itself but utterly crushing not only players armies but here spirits as well. (0 Points) Poor Army - This army was put together with winning games in mind. It utilities effective and efficient choices to make it as tough as possible. Against all but the best of opponents it will pretty much win by itself. (1 points) Average Army - This army sits between Poor and Good (2 point) Good Army - This army was designed to be competitive but in a friendly way. It doesn't just use the best options available. It is a balanced tournament army more then capable of winning games when used well but in less skilled hands could easily be walked all over. (3 Points) Great Army - This army sits between Good and Fantastic (6 Points) Fantastic Army - This army is amazingly cool it utilizes less often seen units and will usually (but not not necessarily) be strongly themed as well. It requires a skilled player to be able to use it effectively and will often have inbuilt weaknesses that can be exploited. (8 Points) You will note that these are intentionally skewed, the idea being to try and get players to take lists that are as close to Great as possible, not just take average lists and use battle to make up the difference. This will give you 5 scores out of 8, the highest and lowest of these scores will not count, this gives you a score out of 24. You will receive a bonus of 6 points if your list is on time and correct first time. You will score a bonus 3 points if your list is on time but had to be corrected and was corrected before the list deadline (note these are not cumulative) Sports 20pts 4 Rounds a score out of 5 each round Poor – This player’s conduct was unacceptable, they throw dice, got cranky or swore when things didn’t go their way or generally just carried on in such a way as to make the game not enjoyable. I wouldn’t be unhappy if I never played this player again. (0 points) Average – This player sits in between Poor and Good (1 points) Good – This player was exactly what I would expect to face in a tournament game. Maintained a positive attitude throughout the game, kept things flowing, would be happy to play this player again. (2 Points) Great – This Player sits in between Good and Unbelievable. (3 Points) Unbelievable – This players conduct was literally unbelievable, whether winning or losing they maintain and fun persona making the game one of, if not the, most enjoyable game I have ever played. I hope to play this player again some time. (5 Points) Painting 30pts Painting for this event will be a subjective Score out of 30 points awarded by me. Please note that I tend to base my score off the worst/least painted model in the army and am extreamly harsh. However I am consistant. I will be looking at the following points (all worth Approximatly 5 points each) Paint Application – Are flat areas smooth or full of brush stokes, are lines neat and clean Modeling/assembly – Have the models be cleaned properly, are there mould lines or gaps visible, have models been converted. Shading/Highlightong – Have the models been shaded or highlighted, were basic techniques used such as drybrushing or Inking or advanced techniques like layering and blending. Detail Work – Have the small details like eyes and pouches been painted and painted well, have they been shaded/highlighted, have squad markings been used are they painted or transfers. Appearance – Does the army look good, does it look like a cohesive force, does it look like its been fighting (battle damage, mud etc) or does it look like its just marched of the parade lines (clean pressed uniform look) or is it a combination of the two. Basing – Was extra effort used, do all the bases look the same, do they match the models and paint scheme. Missions Mission 1 - Find Em, Hold Em and try not Die Primary Objective - Seize Ground (Trip will roll 1 dice to determine the number of markers, will be the same for all tables)) Secondary Objective - Annihilation Deployment - Dawn of War Mission 2 - Kill, Kill, Kill, oh and try not Die Primary Objective - Annihilation Secondary Objective - Deployment Zone Deployment - Spearhead Mission 3 - Bean Counter MK Trip Primary Objective - Bean Counter Secondary Objective - Annihilation Deployment - Pitched Battle Mission 4 - Take, Hold, Flank Primary Objective - Capture and Control Secondary Objective - Table Quarters Deployment - Pitched Battle Primary Missions Annihilation - See 5th Ed 40k Rule Book Capture and Control - See 5th Ed 40k Rule Book Seize Ground - See 5th Ed 40k Rule Book Bean Counter - Before rolling off for deployment/first turn roll a D6 each. Starting with the player that scored the highest alternate placing 5 counters (5 total, not 5 each) on the table. Counters may not be placed in impassable terrain, within 15" of a table edge or 12" of another counter. These are the Beans. At the end of each player turn (yes player turn) each player scores one point for each bean they control. To control a Bean you must have more scoring units (that are not broken or falling back) with at least one model within 3" of the bean. Units may only claim one Bean per player turn. If a unit is in range of more the one Bean the controlling player may nominate which one they are claiming. The player with the most Beans wins. Use the following Tables to determine battle points ![]() Capture and Control (Winner-Loser) Each player holds one objective or nobody holds any objectives - (9-9) One Player holds own Objective and nobody holds the other - (12-6) One Player holds opponents Objective and nobody holds the other - (15-3) One Player holds both Objectives - (18-0) Secondary Missions Deployment Zones - The Player with the Most Scoring Units within their opponents Deployment Zone gets the points, if its a tie no one gets the points. Table Quarters - To control a table quarter you must have more scoring units in the table quarter then your opponent. Note that only scoring units count. Units may only control one table quarter, if a unit is partially within more then quarter it counts as being in which quarter the majority of its models are in. If it is a single model unit or is evenly split between more then one quarter roll a D6 to randomly determine which one it is in.The Player with the most table quarters gets the points. If its a tie then no one gets the points. Annihilation - See the 5th Ed 40k Rule Book. Player with the most Kill Points gets the points on a tie no one gets the points. Deployment - See the 5th Ed 40k Rule Book Prizes TBD based on numbers Paid List Jason P Michael C Sean W Matt Archer Mick Tonks Todd Sterlow Peter Huges Chester Ward Banjo Ward Steve Long John Lampe Robin Edwards Alistar Brodie M Cody B This post has been edited by Trip: Dec 4 2009, 07:59 AM -------------------- Good Games Canberra

If I promise not to bring DE Boat army again can I come along?
Oh this looks so sweet, I'm really keen, now if I can just figure out how to do this cheaply.... I'll take my Arc list, it needs more playtesting. Isn't that interesting? Despite criticisms Bean Counters just keeps cropping up. I'm clearly not the only TO who likes the concept and perhaps now we've finally got the version that players enjoy as much as the TOs! Hmm, also glad to see you liked my tweak for "Capture and Control" (I mean that opponent's objective is worth more than your own, not all those funky (and cr@p) "intermediate" categories we used at Lords for no perceiable gain...) I hope everyone tries to build "Great" or "Fantastic" armies, I certainly am trying to. It will be a good test for Arc b-c I * really want* to have an army like this at Arc. Then maybe I can throw stones at those Victorians who didn't! This post has been edited by ArchonCryx: Nov 12 2009, 01:55 AM -------------------- Official ACADEMIC LEMMING Lords of Terra 2013 will run 20th & 21st July, 2013 Venue Blacktown Bowl 6th Edition NO COMP!!!!! 1500pts, NO IA armies but "40K approved" units are allowed- may include allies and/or a fortification as per rules 50% Battle! (Help make "Best General" Prize redundant...) It's high time someone other than a Queenslander or Kiwi took the trophy away from NSW... QUOTE(krefey) I thought you'd become hobby free lately? Good to see you'll be coming along. More or less. I quit playing wow a few months ago but still havnt had much time to myself with work committments and the girlfriend. Found a bit of spare time at the moment and finally started my praetorian project after 3 years of dreaming and scheming, so I thought I might as well tag along and play a few games. Pretty much still don't know most of the 5th ed rules though, so should make for an interesting experience. 1200 pts is the perfect size, but I dunno whether Ultras, chaos marines, guard or eldar will get a run. Will find out when I write my list on wednesday I guess. Brodie |
