Guys, whilst I am aware of the changes/upheaval in the game system I've picked up some Immortals.

I've noted that a new rule book should come out next year, but I've picked them up more as a painting project anyway (those figures are gorgeous).

Has anyone got any tips for the composition of a force from the starting box and what is the standard game size?

In general the starter boxes are complete forces as they stand. There aren't many other options for the immortals yet - just the one officer and the "Bruce Lee" guy.

The Immortals are beautiful minis - I've mine stashed for painting soon. May I recommend you grab a couple of .5mm drill bits for pinning though... rolleyes.gif

I've not played with the immortals yet so I've no real idea how they run.

Thanks Angora,

I've yet to have the guts to start assembling them, but I think the idea for the drill bits is a good one.

Interesting that its a complete force in a box.

Anyone know where I can get the Sarcens starter?

Saracens are currently unavailable I think.
I imagine they'll be back when the new company gets it's act together. Mind Games in Melbourne have a good selection of the Saracen add-on boxes though.

no worries, gives me a bit of time to get painting.

Interesting that there are no single piece models in that Immortals box. Glad I've got those new glasses, this could be interesting ...

Yep, I'm still trying to finish assembling Kuan Yin the Naga

LiTsu Tsin, Chan Lee & Chung all come in the same box and make great additions to an Immortals army. They are somewhat easier to assemble too.

You could also add Sha Ren Zhe the mercenary Wandering Demon. He is a nice big bulky model who would fit in well with your Immortals.

Very late reply here as I haven't visited the forums in ages.

I have played several games AGAINST Immortals.

They are a reasonably stong faction out of the box, and you actually have a bout 30 AP (i.e. one of your independants) more than a standard force, so you have a built in option.

In summary, they hit very hard, but don't take hits well and have liimited range attacks. Playing them well requires a combination of good light/dark command points management and utlisation of numerous curses and debuffs on your opponents. Lots of little individual tactics amongst the figures with defensive/offensive options amongst your independants.

Seems fun to play honestly, although Saracens starter will give them a real headache from what I have seen.

Regards,

Dennis
