Hi Guys.

Daniel - 26.875 - 9.13 - 9.5 - 8 - 53.505
Steve C - 13.75 - 10.79 - 8.5 - 6 - 39.04

There you go the results are above, I think I have entered in all the data correctly here.

I would like to thank all those who made the trip down to Sunny Wollongong for 4 hard fought games of 40k.
And to those who couldn't make it, there is always next time.

Out of those 8 players, 2 tavelled down to Wollongong, so that means 6 were locals!

Thank you all!

Alex, shame you bailed, the 4th mission played was your choose your own adventure mission, initially there was coffusion, but then everyone got it. But having a secondary mission maybe to confusing when you have 30+ players.

The next WGGT will be on the 16th of May, I will be posting up details of that one within a week.

What did you guys think?

Thanks for running the day Scott, and thanks to all my opponents for some hard fought and close(ish) games.

@Todd: Just one wound.......just ONE WOUND and it would've been a draw.......that's how much my dice hate me.

Concur:

Thanks Scott (1) for running the event, and having marauding 40k nerds make a nuisance of themselves.

Big Kudos out to Steve C for running an impromptu army, Daniel for the closest tyranid fight I've ever had, and Scott (2) for hand my ass to me and teach me the rules - again; and to all the players I didn't battle with for making the general environement fun and lively.

(P.S. Working on adjustments to my list now as you suggested, Scott: I'm thinking of grudging you in Leviathon for a rematch!)

Thanks all, hope to see you all at Leviathon, and in the future.

Regards,

Matt

getting lowest comp/sports and equal bottom painting with the guy who doesn't paint his things was a bit of an eye opener.

My list was a bit harsh, I get that. and my guys weren't based, fair enough. But I never thought I was a bad sport.

anyway I had good fun for the most part and three cheers to the T.O for a fairly smoothly run event. albeit the short player list being in effect.

One 3 and three 4's does not make you a bad sport.

The score was out of 5, so anything above a 2.5 is good.

Painting scores I was generous, but with only one fully painted army (Todd) the scores were allways going to be low.

Comp overall was in the "Average" band, with only one exception.

Peer comp looks to of worked here.

And Scott was just winning game after game with an old 3rd ed codex! Combined with a almost perfect sports score he just pulled ahead of the pack, now if he just finishes painting his army......

Peer comp, what did you all think of the marking before the game, and then a modifier for after the game? There were afew bonus's passed out as well as some negs, but they tended to ballance each other out.

It was good for me because it gave me a chance to return to thinking about my opponents army after i'd had some more contact with it than just reading a sheet. Since I don't really know what I'm doing I might not have been giving out as accurate composition scores if i couldnt adjust them afterwards.

I really like that comp system, as it allows for a re-evaluation of the army's performance, and also allows to modify for combos you never originally picked up on/combos that you thought you saw but weren't actually there.

I'd really like to see something similar in the future.
