This one is important enough to deserve a separate announcement in the new forum...
Privateer Press have generously offered to donate a grand prize for the national FloodMachine tournament raffle. Every $10 spent on tokens at any FloodMachine event gets you one entry into the raffle, and contributes to the
Queensland Premier's Flood Appeal charity.
The grand prize for the 2011 FloodMachine raffle will include:
- One autographed hardcover copy of Forces of Hordes: Minions
- Both Gatorman warlocks: Calaban the Gravewalker, and Bloody Barnabas
- One Blackhide Wrastler heavy warbeast
- One Ironback Spitter heavy warbeast
- Two Bull Snapper light warbeasts
- Wrong Eye & Snapjaw - a lesser warlock and a potent heavy warbeast
- A full unit of Bog Trog Ambushers (10 models)
- A full Gatorman Posse (5 models)
- Three Croak Hunter solos
- A set of the new Minion tokens, to represent Fury points, spells, and ongoing effects
- A Minions faction patch
These can be used to field a range of flexible 35 point Hordes army lists with either of the Gatorman warlocks.
If you needed any more incentive to buy those Rampage and Re-roll tokens, this is it!

Second raffle prize:We've had another fantastic donation from
Defiant Gaming - it's so big that it will become a standalone prize, meaning that there are now three prizes on offer for the raffle.
In the news coverage so far, I think the Mayor of Ipswich currently takes the award for "angriest politician interviewed about the floods." For our third prize, we present the Angry Army - a guaranteed defence against looters in the nation of Khador.
- Kommander Orsus Zoktavir
- Berserker
- Berserker
- Berserker
- War dog
- Doom Reavers (Leader and 5 Grunts)
- Greylord Escort
- Doom Reavers (Leader and 5 Grunts)
- Fenris
- Yuri the Axe
The Defiant Gaming prize is a complete 35 point Warmachine: Khador army.

Thats some good prize support right there !
Upon thinking Ben, would it be better to split the 2nd prize pack out, its kinda mixed at this stage.

Yep, will do - we can draw the Privateer prize first, the Defiant prize second, and then keep drawing for each group of prizes for the community prize. That way, we should see plenty of people winning something.

How will the draw be done?
e.g. 1: will it be done by an individual at their house with a group of friends around who all played in Floodmachine events?
e.g. 2: will a list of players and their number of entries be sent to one of the generous companies (PP or DG?) and get them to do the draw for us?

I imagine one of the PG will organise and conduct the draw after all events are done.

For what its worth, none of us as PGs are eligible for any or these prizes. At this point we're still looking at exactly how the draw will be done, but I'm hoping none of you honestly believe that we will arrange a private drawing somewhere that sees only friends and associates win these prizes...

I doubt that would happen, but I think it's better to have the method of the draw out in the open.
I have another question: Is there a date limit on when tournaments can be held?

We haven't placed a date, but I think the end of March likely - any longer and it holds up the rest, and I think two months is more than reasonable for what's related to a current issue.

AUSCON is happy to provide a limited edition Dorthy miniature for each state.
If the relevant organisers can get in contact with me, once we receive the batch of miniatures, we'll send one to each State and they can be raffled, used as prizes etc.
