RealmofLegends
We've all seen the dreadful events happening in Victoria with families and businesses badly affected by the floods. And many of us have thought that we'd like to help out if we can.

So, we at Realm of Legends have decided to support the appeal by running a charity 40K tournament.

Coming so soon after Arcanacon we thought we'd keep it simple, 1,200 points (so you could run your Arc army if you went, or the one you would have liked to run if you didn't).

There will be NO Comp

There will be Sports

You will be able to BUY extra dice re-rolls for 50c per dice with all funds raised going to the appeal

There will be prizes for:

1st Place
Person who spent the most money
Person who had the most spent against them in a game

More prizes to be announced down the track...

Painted armies at 3 colours minimum. HOWEVER if you wish to field unpainted models you may PAY to do so at $2 per model (all money going toward the appeal).

Entry to the tournament is $5 with all money going to the appeal.

- Saturday 19th of February
- Registration from 8.30am - 9.30am
- 1,200 points
- 3 rounds (at least 1 flood/water related mission)

We would like to throw out a HUGE Thank You to the Games Workshop Trade team for their generous donation in support of this event and the Victorian Flood Appeal.

In addition to the tournament we have some fantastic Manufacturers coming along to this event to show off their wares, more on that shortly.

No.

You can't reroll a reroll Leslie, everyone knows that smile.gif

But you can buy rerolls to hit, then rerolls to wound. Think of it like the VFL/AFL before the salary cap........and you're Carlton.

Michael

so you dont get to auto win, you just get to 99% autowin if you have enough moneys

but the real winners will be fun, 40k and the flood charity =P

Let me rephrase the question, is there anything extra cool up for grabs or is it just standard off the shelf stuff that i could normally buy ?

Floodmachine, which i am attending smile.gif, has some cool prizes up for grabs and they have been listed, signed rulebooks etc.

Some standard "off the shelf" stuff (but HEAPS of it) but also a few bits that are limited edition, no longer available.

I will be listing the individual prizes up for grabs later today.

There's more coming from additional sponsors as well.

Your going down faster than a $2 lady of questionable affection Best
RealmofLegends
Lists aren't required as there is no comp. You'll need one on the day to show your opponents, but no pre-submission.

Questions about the use of re-rolls:

What can't I reroll?
Can I reroll the die to end the game? If so how do we determine who gets to roll the die?

Can I reroll successful dice? (say for example I have a unit in reserve, and I want to keep them in reserve)

Is a scatter result one reroll for all three dice or one per die? What about leadership tests?

Maria, Can you also buy tokens to prevent players from using dice rerolls? 50 cents each too? I think that would be cool. smile.gif

The only dice you can't re-roll is a re-roll. eg. Twin-linked.

Yes, you can re-roll the dice to end the game/extra turn etc. It can be re-rolled once per player (so each person can have a chance at deciding the end of the game).

Yes, you can re-roll a successful dice (if you want)

Scatter result would be that you re-roll all 3 dice as they are rolled as a set, this includes leadership checks and any other "set" of dice rolls. As per rulebook.

RealmofLegends
OK, prizes for VIC Floodwar 40K have been sorted. We have had wonderful support from Games Workshop Trade Team, Melbourne in Flames 2011 and WarMans, we've also thrown in a few bits and pieces as well.

Prizes we have up for grabs are:

- Entry to Melbourne in Flames 2011
- A professionally painted 750pt Dark Eldar Army worth approx $700 + DE Codex
- An Ork Spearhead (NIB)
- A Baneblade (NIB)
- A Catachan Battleforce (NIB)

As mentioned in OP there will be prizes for:

- Person who spends the most on the day
- Person who has the most spent against them in a game
- 1st Place

And because of the great support we've received there will be more prizes announced soon.

Just a suggestion - don't, it really slows things down, and people end up buying LESS tokens thinking "There's no point, my opponent will just counter me". IN 3 years of Breast Cancer Brawl (which runs very similar, and was the inspiration behind FloodWar) I've only seen it turn out for the lesser of all goals.

EDIT: Also, great stuff, very jealous and hoping we can get as good prizes somewhere for our Adelaide FloodWar40k - GW knocked us back sad.gif
morsla
Wow - those are some great prizes smile.gif
Dark Apostle
Nice set of prizes, its really good to see so much support for such a good cause.

Cheers,

Theres a 99% chance I will play so put my name down Jared O'Callaghan

How does purchasing and redeeming rerolls work, do we get tokens that we can buy in bulk and redeem by putting them in a barrel/jar? Basically what I mean is do I need to bring $20 of 50c coins?

RealmofLegends
Great to see more sign ups!

Re-roll tokens can be purchased in bulk (so you won't need to be handing over 50c pieces).

The winner of the Warmachine floodmachine last weekend was not the highest spender. Just something to ponder if you're thinking you'll be up against people with deeper pockets. Sometimes generalship wins out regardless of adversity.
