QUOTE(Dru @ Dec 14 2011, 08:27 AM)

For the Fri event: Its a 'may' bring two lists. So:
a) you can choose to just bring 1?
b) if you DO bring 2, you dont have to use both, right?
For the Sat/Sun event:
Is it two lists? Do you have to use them both?
In this matter, both events use the normal SR2011 rules. Specifically, while you may bring 2 lists you are not obligated to use both.
QUOTE(Rez @ Dec 14 2011, 01:54 AM)

What time does the Highlander start friday morn?
Start times for both events will be listed in the players pack, which I hope to finish tomorrow and post within 24 hours of finishing. Stay tuned.

OK, while the enthusiasm is amazing, at this late stage I am not going to increase the player cap.
Prize support has already been agreed and in some cases shipped. In particular, adding more people will screw with the swag bags. Honestly, those things have been a a bit of a PITA. Next year I am probably going to add some kind of painting prize and give 'more' to the 'Best of faction' winners instead.
In addition, some people have already booked return flights. Going over 64 players will add a round, screwing with their plans thus greatly encouraging drop outs.
But I promise all of you this - Next year we aim 'big' right from the start

Okay, I am registered! Just in before the event is full. Holy crap, I didn't even think December was leaving it late at all.
By the way, I am counting toward the total of ACT registrations, having emigrated(?) from NSW earlier this year.
Now the question is, what to field in my lists? (And who still needs painting?)...

Painting is important, and I had thought that making the swag bags dependant on either playing fully painted or early bird pre-registration would be a good incentive. Looks like I misjudged that one.

I don't think the Cancon registration system would allow more than 64 players to pay and register - so it might be just a typo from the front page..

G'day all
The pack has an error in it. The formula for falling damage given in the quick reference sheets suffered a copy/paste/typo/etc. I may fix it, but I also may not get to it, so just be aware of it.
If anybody else finds a typo/error please let me know ASAP.

Just in to make sure the old ‘Chinese whispers’ don’t get too much of a foothold....
There was a glitch that resulted in the CGS registration system continuing to accept registrations for the 50pt SRoller above the 64 player cap. Luckily, only one person submitted a registration before the glitch was noticed/corrected and the registration system is no longer accepting entries for Saturday.
The player list at the start of this thread has been double checked and is accurate. If you are listed, do not fear for your registration status. If you registered and your name does not appear please let me know ASAP.
Going forward...
Initially it appeared that Desert_Spiral’s registration would be problematic. However, it now appears that another player will withdraw from the Sat/Sun event, making Desert_Spiral the 64th player. All is well that ends well.
If another player decides to drop out before the event, I will post in this thread seeking an alternate on a ‘1st in, 1st served’ basis. I will then work with the identified alternate and CGS with regard to paying and formalising the registration. If all else fails, the identified alternate will be allowed to register/pay on the day.
In addition, I will accept names (again on a '1st in, 1st served' basis) the morning of each event to cover any no shows.
Registered players – like it says in the pack DO NOT BE LATE. I really don’t want to give away your space, but I will not screw over the other 63 players because you got distracted by something shiny (or a hotdog).
So please, respect the tournament, the other players and the clock.

Question re the rules pack: Several of the terrain features are classified as “obstructions”, eg buildings and rocks. However the definition of obstruction on page 9 doesn’t say anything about obstructions providing cover. Can I just confirm that was intended or should obstructions, such as buildings and rocks, provide cover?
Thanks Adam.
Jyggdrasil
Dec 17 2011, 10:10 PM
Gaining cover from terrain isn't a function of its status as an obstacle, obstruction, etc. Its covered by a separate rule in the section on combat - see pg 57 of WM Prime.
