Hello friendly folks and.....people,
On Sunday 25th September Unlimited Hobbies (Unit 2/94 Kildare Rd, Blacktown, Ph: 88148700) and the Western Warriors will be holding a one day Axis and Allies: War at Sea Tournament. The tournament will test the naval skill of the Admirals involved with 200 point forces using the long Range Battle scenario. There will be four 1 and a half hour battles being played. The competition will start around 9:00 & finish around 4:30. (Be there at 8:30 please) Entry will be $2 for members & $5 for non western warrior members. There will be prizes for first, second and third in the form of War at Sea minatures. There will also be a prize for best sport.
Points system will work as follows: For winning a player will receive 3 points. For a loss 1 point. To win a battle you must either get the make the enemy lose 3 quarters of their force (150pts) or if the game times out or both opponents lose 150 pts on the same turn, the victor is the player who has received the most victory points at the end of that turn. (points you get for destroying enemy ships based on there value. Top right hand corner of card) In the unlikely event of a tie both players will receive 2 points. Victory points will also be recorded on score cards in case people end up with the same amount of wins and losses. Hopefully the win loss points will speed up the scoreing process. (determining who will play who and so on)
Force composition: Players may choose a 200 pt list from any year of the war. They must pick a force that is either Axis or Allied. The exception to this would be the French Navy which at various of the war fought on both sides. Italians will be soley Axis for clarity even though some will argue they did change sides. Japanese forces will fight solo. No other Axis forces may be present in a Japanese list. Finns may only fight in a German list not Italian.
I think thats everything. A few people have already expressed interest in playing. If the date of the event suits you please confirm you are playing. If you would like to play just email me (robvella78@hotmail.com), ring/message if you have my number or tell me in persons that you want to play. Bring a copy of your list on the day. Please make sure it's 200 points or lower and has meet the force composition criteria.
Best Regards
Rob Vella
