Is anyone going to play Blood Bowl at Auscon? Not sure whether to do 1 or 2 days. They are both individual tournaments.

Looking at booking my tickets soon, just wanna know if anyone wants to join me.

Yer I'm kinda keen - are they completely seperate tourni's, or are the results totaled for the weekend ???

I'm sure we had this conversation in some other thread tongue.gif

They are 2 separate tourneys. There is an extra prize for the coach that performs the best over two days. I've asked already, and you can still be in the running if you take 2 separate teams. Might be good to check out the competition on Saturday then bring a suitably competitive team for the Sunday.

P.S will you be at the club on Friday? I have a mini for Sart from babbl and he needs it before the tourney. If you're there on Friday I can give it to you and you can give it to him on Tuesday with 3 days to spare for him to paint it.

Looking at maybe taking a stunty Lizardmen team. Any ideas for skills? Singles =20k and can have 1x double for 30k.

Also thinking of taking humans. Thoughts on an appropriate roster?
@Chad, what did you take to Eucbowl?

I'd be looking at

1 Guarding Krox
2 Sprinting Skinks
2 SideStepping Skinks
1 Sure Hands Skink
2 Catching Skinks
4 Nekkid Skinks
Helmut Wulf
3 Rerolls.

(Though, being Stunty, I would consider putting stock into babes or an apoth for the Kroxi...)

And Yer, I should be up on Friday to take that Mini.

About my Humans, I ran:

1 Thrower = Accurate
1 Thrower = Dump off
2 Catchers = Block
2 Catchers = Side Step
4 Blitzers = Guard
1 Lineman = Block
1 Lineman

3 x RR

However, Dump off is useless and 1 thrower would be enough i think, unless you want to swap Dump-Off for Leader, which gets you a 20k RR.

Also Side step on the catchers was really useful, I'd almost suggest it over block for its utility, because people just always seemed to come up with the stars when they wanted the blodgers down regardless.

4 x Guard is important and required.

Just note, this list was geared for the throwing game. As the strength 2 catchers and block-less throwers really lets it down.

If you wanted a bash human list (1 Leader/Block thrower and no catchers, maybe an ogre) they run really bashy and focus on running game which works quite well.

Just note, i got 33.33% wins if i remember correctly, so not that great a result. But I'm a tourny chocker so meh haha.

Also for the stunty Skink team I'd suggest:

1 Krox = Break Tackle (He needs it, as he IS ALWAYS your blitzers to get into cages)
1 Skink = Sure Hands
2 Skinks = Side Step
10 Skinks = No Skills

4 x RR

This list is what i learnt playing approx 10 Stunty Skink games on the PC Legends game. I found my Krox always make the blitz into the cages, so he needed Break Tackle to get away from the crappy Line-pigs he got stuck next to. Sure hands on 1 skink is good, safe. And i think if you want to drop a RR or a player for skills, only add Side Step. My goblins hardly use jump up (when they go down, its often off the pitch or stunned), sure feet/sprint is a little moot due to their massive natural movement. Catch is ok, but with 4 RR, you should be fine for that critical re-roll. Side step is truely a joy to use, take it.

Oh and I think Hulmet is a waste in Josh's style of list. A Chainsaw is Good in defence and Great in offence. However, with 13 players, he is sure to get FORCED onto the pitch by Cas's/K.Os and so he'll go in unwanted in your offence. Which due to stunty and move 8, you do epic 2 turn speed runs. Thus, you send him off. He dosn't fit and dosn't work in my mind.

My 2c,

PS: I'm not playing BB as my Gobbo Guard have a date with some Gay Knights and Boob Angels. So lets see if the little buggers can score themselves a best painted!

Ok, I've been ruled out for Saturday so can only do the Sunday tourney. Anyone interested in just doing the one day?
Seqen en Ra
Drop the 2nd thrower for a line pig
Kick instead of block on lineman
Div catch is also good on a catcher but block dodge is a good all rounder for offence and defence

How about that - simple Ogreless list?

bit boring, but should work good for punching stuff outa the way smile.gif

Yeah, that's a good all round list. It will bash mostly, play reasonably well, move quick enough and if you lose the thrower, just run it instead. It'll work. I think try it out.

If i was running tourny humans i'd run something very similar, but with wrestle on linepiggies due to the amount of block you face at tounies.

Yer, this depends on you'r attitude though: do you want them to go down with wrestle (and take the opponent down too) or stay standing, run a guarder into place, and hit back?

personally - I'd take block, cause I have no qualms with taking the 'cuddle' result and standing beside them.

I guess - my way of coming at it is that I'm more interested in moving the ball forward than putting him down, and wrestle has saved me more than a couple of dodge rolls.
