Grovel
Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a place that has a comprehensive list of wargear options for infantry/tank squads in the boxes?

Edit: Clarified question.

I guess I worded the question poorly. I meant what comes in the box, not what options the rules allow.

I don't think so. Usually they have the option for everything these days. Well except maybe for the squad leaders.

Except things like Dreadnoughts for marines, missing a few of the weapon options. Tac squads missing most of their options in their box.... but most of the new codexes seem to have all of the options Best thing to do is look at the GW website and check out the sprue if they have a photo of it or to google the specific thing you are looking for.

Tac squads are missing most of the heavy weapoins, you're right. I hadn't thought about that :S

Hmmm, ignore my previous post tongue.gif

I think it only has the plasma and flamer as well, no melta. But it's been a while since i brought a tac squad. certainly no fist in there, just power weapon. But also even some of the newer kits dont allow for all of the options that the squad can take. So the Death company sprue only has a few hammers/fists/other special weapons. Sure i can understand you would not have sets of all of the wargear options but still it does make it hard if you had wanted something crazy like everyone with an infernious pistol

They have melta as well as the other specials. They also come with a fist and a combat shield, and a power axe. They never came with just a power weapon. I believe they are still lacking in heavy weapons though.

This is true, i think they have two infernus pistols.

@Op, for the most part boxes come with most of the options. Any special units generally come with a lot more bits (eg, devestators and death company come with a lot more options than tac squads (number and types of different options))

I'm also assuming that things like the Devastators don't have enough weapons to kit them all with the same thing? Hopefully it's not still one of each like it was back when I bought a box last (sometime during the stone age).

Normally I would just pore over the GW site for sprue pictures but quite a few items don't have a picture, and it gets quite time consuming to have to do it for every single thing. Would be nice if they listed what weapons/quantities were included in the item description...

This box set contains five multi-part plastic Space Marine Devastators and eight heavy weapons, including: a missile launcher, a multi-melta, two heavy bolters, two lascannons and two plasma cannons. The set also includes additional components allowing you to assemble one of the Devastators as a sergeant and add extra detail to the squad. Models supplied with 25mm round bases.

That sounds like the Assault Squad sprue rather than the Tactical Squad sprue.

SM assault squads can't take meltaguns.

There was a melta in the box last box of tacs I got (recut sprue different from 3rd edition and 4th ed ones).
They have added things to that one - rather like the older SW and BT sprues did.

That is an entirely fair question mate. It can be quite hard to track down exactly what options are in the current plastic boxed sets. It frustrates me too, because without resorting to the Internet, you can't tell from most of the boxes.

Yeah it's been driving me nuts for a couple of weeks now... I'm looking at breaking my no GW policy with a bulk purchase but can't find what I'll need to buy in order to fill out my list due to the lack of info on what weapon options are in the boxes...

I think they both come with the 'SM uprgade sprue' which also comes with the DA vets and probably a few others. It's standard so doesnt quite fit all boxes. Comes with seargent gear, plasma, melta, flamer.

BA assault squads can take meltaguns. Units that can take melta may also be able to take jump packs, honour guard? forgot vanilla choices.

And the tactical sprue has parts ONLY to make the marines complete (arms, legs, head, bolter etc) i.e. 2 combat squads. The bonus is the standard upgrade sprue. I wish they would clarify these things.

In terms of non-standard weaponry the Assault Squad comes with: Combat Shield, Plasma Pistol x2, Power Fist, Power Weapon x2. No Plasma or Melta guns, no flamer.
