I'd love to get some games in again, I'm missing Mordheim something fierce.
Also, a couple people were playing at GW Sydney battle Bunker on Thursday Nights about 6 weeks ago, they might still be, not sure, it's on and off at the Bat Bunker in my experience.

Dec 8 2011, 05:40 PM
well then how many people in sydney are keen for game/campaign of mordheim?
i've never actually played a game, but have a few warbands in the works, with an undead being the closest to completion (and when i say that i just need to assemble/paint all of it!)

Hi guys, I'm Franky, and we used to run a campaign for Mordheim in the Sydney GW Store. If we are a nice group we can try to organize a nice and proper campaign, not like "who play the most games win the campaign". Let me know if you're interested and we can try to organize something. Cheers

Illd be interested for sure, as long as people wouldn't hate having a relative newbie to the game system.
Franky
Feb 17 2012, 04:35 PM
that's why I would like to do a proper campaign, to give everyone the same amount of fights, so that inexperienced player or player with less available time, can play without problems!

Feb 18 2012, 08:09 AM
i'd be keen
but as i'm really really slow i'd need enough time to sort out my warbands! (freakin work!!!)
milostnik
Feb 19 2012, 05:30 AM
That sounds GREAT! Just name a time and day and I'll be there.
Rockin Regards.

I reckon only Officials???
Sorry, which is.
- Reiklanders
- Marienburgers
- Middenheimers
- Cult Of Possessed
- Sisters Of Sigmar
- Witch Hunters
- Undead
- Skaven
And Expansion Warbands:
- Dwarves Treasure Hunters
- Da Mob Roolz (Orcs)
- Kislevites
- Ostlanders
- Beastmen
- Carnival of Chaos
I think all the other warbands are too unbalanced in my opinion. Depends if everyone else REALLY wanted to play a different one?
Franky
Feb 19 2012, 07:28 PM
Chaos Marauders list isn't kinda official?
milostnik
Feb 19 2012, 08:55 PM
It's listed as a unofficial through www.mordheimers.com (great website by the way).
I'm guessing you found it through the border town burning website? I dunno if we should go near those warbands because then anyone could pick the MANEATER warband (Ogre Warband), which is just ridiculously powerful.
Its up to majority really, if everyone wants to use unofficial ones then i'm happy. Im happy just to have found people who want to play it to be honest. Need to get my Mordheim fix.

Would we try and organise it on Thursday nights or Saturday nights? I've never played at a GW in Australia (played GW in the UK), so I dunno if you wanna avoid busy nights or quiet nights?
Keen bean.

Anyone?
dulydude
Feb 22 2012, 01:59 PM
i'm interested, but my issue is that i haven't really gotten anything assembled/painted
the closest i have to built is a shadow elf warband (i know they are unofficial, but the 5th ed shadowwarriors look badass)
followed by undead (nothing is assembled)
followed by skaven and marienburg (which both have only a handful of heroes atm)
milostnik
Feb 22 2012, 02:25 PM
I think that it might be like another week or two before everyone confirms. But if your heaps stuck I got miniatures for every warband except Sisters that you can use on the nights if you like?
dulydude
Feb 22 2012, 02:39 PM
OH and i have sisters, forgot that i bought a whole heap of them (however most need basing/bases...and counter weights...)
yeah, i'd be cool with using other miniatures, skaven or mercs (as they seem like good noob warbands)
i should have mentioned earlier that i went into GW CBD to see about mordheim, they apparently gamed on thursday after 7 (this was dec last year though). And also claimed they were WFB such that the pre-teens couldn't take their table!!!
milostnik
Feb 22 2012, 05:49 PM
haha what is WFB?
No worries, I got 20 clan rats, rat ogre, Rat ogre handler and skaven overlord as well as a hand full of merc's and swordsmen with various weapons and colors.
I sent a email to a guy called Jason Cheedar who apparently has run afew campaigns there before last year, I think they rotate specialist games like Blood Bowl, Necromunda, and Space Hulk on a monthly basis.
Where about you located Duly?
milostnik
Feb 22 2012, 05:52 PM
ahhhh now I get it. Is Mordheim discouraged at GW or something? They loved it in the UK when I was there.

Feb 22 2012, 05:52 PM
warhammer fantasy battles!
and walking distance to town hall! (and good games central)

Feb 22 2012, 08:10 PM
How many players is too many?
I've been playing Mordheim with my group of friends (4 of us) since '99. We've never been into the WYSIWYG rule regarding weapons on models however.
I recently moved into Sydney and had to sell my table and terrain, so I've been looking for somewhere local for us to play.
milostnik
Feb 22 2012, 09:18 PM
Cool!
What's WYSIWYG rules, weapons, and miniatures?
If all 4 of you are going to come then that would be grand, the limit on people is of no worry. The more warbands in a campaign the merrier. At the moment there are 2 people including me who are keen to get in to GW and play.
Maybe next Thursday.

I'm terrible with abbreviated sentences.
I have never really been into the whole WYSIWYG with weapons, I guess I like it when models are more accurately represented like an OGRE being a OGRE instead of a MINOTAUR. I've just always proffered GW models as well, but thats just me.
I guess it depends on how far the imagination barrier has to be pushed

Have you been into GW in Sydney MasteR?

i'm good for thursday next week i think, will let you know in a day or so
regardless though, after 6 works best for me (as i'll be coming from work)
the issue with GW cbd is that the other gamers get pissed about a specialist game taking up a whole table
the GW staff there are ok with it, cause specialist gamers = veterans = free advertising for new gamers
milostnik
Feb 23 2012, 01:44 PM
Ahh kk, so how do we go about this? Do we book a table? ask the people who work there? Or just turn up and take a table?
dulydude
Feb 23 2012, 02:37 PM
i'm going to assume that there will be mordheim players there on thursdays as per one of my earlier posts...and as one is a staff member should be a problem (they rock up around 7)
if they aren't there an we need a table...unsure. ask the red shirts?
milostnik
Feb 23 2012, 02:44 PM
Sounds good me. See you around 7 next Thursday. I'll bring all my miniatures so you can have a pick to use them if you like?
I'll probably be wearing a Hawaiian shirt or something like that.
hopefully will see afew more people there wanting to play it as well.

It's just a weapons thing. No imagination pushing required. Our models are 99% GW, hopefully this does not cause too much conflict with the GW staff.
I've been into the store a hand full of times over the years.
Has anyone followed up with Franky on his offer to run a narrative type campaign?
My friends and I take a little time to get organised but I'll try and get there next Thursday after work somewhere around 19:00, even if its just to say hi and watch a bit of the first game.

Haven't heard anything from Franky yet, even Duly and I just have a warm up game would be fun.

Feb 24 2012, 05:38 PM
Here we are, with a sleepless night on my shoulders

I didn't reply earlier because n.1 I forgot n.2 I was busy as hell
If you guys want to play mordheim we can arrange games like a tournament like after a set amount of games we finish in a grand battle royale. Obviously being a specialist game, is not usually welcomed too much at GW Sydney City, but hey it's their game, and there's no much people as before thanks to the new manager in store.
We can easily play games to train newbies and take old players to new life! The only thing is that by playing in a GW store, any model not GW or entirely auto sculpted is not permitted. So if you guys have original warbands or legit variants, let's meet next Thursday as said before around 7pm to crash some skulls and loot some warpstone
Just ask anyone for Franky, every staff member knows me

see you on Thursday then!
milostnik
Feb 24 2012, 06:52 PM
Wicked. See you then! around 7pm

Feb 24 2012, 10:44 PM
hi guys i'm interested to get into mordheim, but i've never played it.
could i come on thursday around 7 as well to see the game and perhaps play if someone is not too bored to show me the game?
milostnik
Feb 24 2012, 11:00 PM
For sure, It's quite easy to pick up fast.
Do you have a warband in mind you would like to play?
Samanos
Feb 25 2012, 01:32 AM
the only warband that i have models for are skaven.
(not the mordheim models, the warhammer ones.)
but i am also interested in the witch hunters and the undead warbands.
milostnik
Feb 25 2012, 07:59 PM
Great!
Undead is my warband of choice and my second choice would be Witch Hunters or Possessed.
If you like you can bring in your models and possibly maybe have a game with us if you like. It dosnt matter if its Mordheim Skaven or GW Skaven, as long as its one or the other the staff will be happy.
Have you read up on the rules at all?
Cheers

If you know how to play one of the Warhammer system already you'll get the game in a split second, because the mechanics of the game are pretty much similar! We'll be more than happy to show everyone there rules and tips!

I should make it to Thursday night as well. I'll have a Sister of Sigmar warband. I'll try and re read the rules but a guided game would be great as I have only played once or twice and not for 18 months.
