Wanting to try new army out, anyone up for a couple of trial games Saturday at GW? 1500 points, informal affair?

Nice one Mikkel Good to see Ogres getting some much deserved love with the new book, its still early days but it looks like another wonderfully balanced book.

Started looking at the army years ago in Japan, but never got them started. Now with the lovely monster kits I couldn't resist any longer. Thought that it would be a good army for my limited painting skills and it is going ok this far.
Really looking forward to playing them, very different from HE and I get the impression that there are several different viable builds. So I am busy buying lots of different models.

I'm set to play Matt down at GG some time on Saturday so your welcome to come down and one of us will probably be ablt to give you a game.
For me Good Games with Terrain is a far more attractive option than GW these days. Will and I bumped into one of the current or former staff from GW in the city outside Good Games last week who took pains to tell us how much of a pain in the ass the new manager is. Banning discussion of any non GW games and apparently revoking peoples bunker membership over the smallest things.

Well, if I had problems at GW I would stop going, but so far I have not had anything to complain about.
Do think GW has better tables and terrain, but the main thing for me is hassle as we have to do everything ourselves (setup), and the shop doesn't really carry much stock of GW products.

Ok, so you up for a couple of 1500 point games?
I like viable builds, I just don't like doing something if that is what everybody says you have to do. I am a Warhammer rebel, playing to maximise the fun!

Well, GW stocks a lot of GW products, don't really know any independent retailers near here that has a good selection. I am pretty much indifferent when it comes to where I buy, just want it to be convenient.
As to talking about non-GW games, don't really know hat it has been a problem. I mean, who would talk about Warmachine if they are in the middle of a warhammer game? Yes, if you get thrown out for simply uttering the name of another game then it is asinine.
At the moment all this in anecdotal, I find that most things you get second hand are wildly inaccurate, so let's stay cool until it happens.
As I said, I can play at GG just fine, but think GW has better tables and terrain and getting a game started is a lot faster. No one has ever bothered me at GW nor at GG.

From what the dude said (not sure his reliability) it wasn't a ban of discussion of games other than Warhammer (they have always banned that) it was a ban on discussion of anything other than Warhammer.
Additionally the dude said that unless you sign in and out religiously, they cancel your membership on the spot.
I don't have a GW brand tape measure, so I can't play there. Also I am sick of their rude and patronizing attitude. Now that GG has decent terrain, I have no reason to go to that glorified babysitters. /rant.

+1, I've always thought the terrain was better at GW but the people in there always kept me away.....im having a game with Roy at 10am if anyone wants a second game after lunch.
