Grudge-Con Rules:
All armies must be painted to 3 colour and based minimum standard.
Players will be divided into 3 groups of similar skill level.

Accept all Challenges: You must accept grudges from a player in a lower group
Take a Skull: At least one of the three games, a player must grudge someone in a higher group (unless you are in the highest group)
Silent Stalker: Players in the Group 3 start the grudges then Group 2 and finally Group 1
Blood Rule: Do not grudge your friends. Do not grudge a player you had played.
Grudge-Con Points System:
Held your ground: 1 Skull (Win against a player from the same or lower group, Draw against a player from one group higher)
Skulltaker: 2 Skulls (Win against a player from one group higher, Draw against a player from two groups higher)

Grudge-Con and ATC Trials:
Grudge-Con will also be use as an ATC trials. So, if you are on the draft list, it is recommended that you come and proof your strengths. If you are not in the draft list yet, here is where you can proof that I should picked you into the team. I will be monitoring your playing style and behaviours.
Win by skills, not by rule lawyering.

So correct me if I’m wrong, but players grudge their opponents each round?
Sounds interesting, count me in.

Yes, Grudge-Con is where you get to grudge people every game.

Denis, every single time I have evr grudged someone I have lost. (when your dice decide to roll more 1's until its Ld then its 6's it kinda amkes you loose). So Is this just a way to keep me out of ATC?

I'll try and make it...
How will you determine the skill level of groups? (RHQ, personal knowledge etc).

I have played with enough players to know where you level is. There is only 3 groups, so it is not that hard.
This is like a type of handicap race.

You'll still be beaten by people in the middle group

As for me well i must be in the lowest group right just look at my placing at dogcon last year.....31st/37.....*shudders* from bad memories.
As per using rankings to break groups, well I know for a fact that Richard Neally is a really good general but as he has not attended many tournaments in the past year(s) he isn't up that high, (not that hes interested just an example).
So if I'm looking at it right, the only way a group 3 person gets to play a person in group two is if there are odd numbers, as all the group 3 players will pair off first.
I'll put in an early grudge Andrrew Wynen seeming we're both fighting for a place as DE general and we could be the same group I grudge you.

There will be 3 Groups (A, B, C)
Since I know or played most of you, I will divide the group by my perception of your skill level relative to others in Grudge-Con.
I could be wrong with one or two players but you should find yourself in a group with players in similar level.
Group B will be the biggest group, because they will be grudged by Group C and grudging people in Group A.
You do not have to grudge people in the same group, the Skulls encourage you to 'grudge up' because if you Draw, you still get rewarded. This is to reward players who challenges themselves. Beating the Millers, David, or Kirby will be more worth your while than grudging Andrew.

There will be one of each book mission (3+ objectives, KP, and 2 objectives). Because this doubles up as ATC trials, and ATC uses book missions, I will stick with it this time around.
I will run other events (e.g. Summer Horizon) with different missions in the future.

sounds good
how will you determine the order that people make grudges in? (I mean with in a grouping)
when can grudges be made? (can you line up all three opponents before the day or is grudging pregame only)
I am also surprised that Aeon hasn't tried to claim that winning through rules lawyering is a skill.

You don't need to aim for ATC to play Grudge-Con. In fact, I want people like you to give me feedback on how I can make it more fun for others as well.
In the end, it should always be fun even if you play against strong players. If you lose, you can learn some new trick, and if you win, you get 'rep'. Win-Win

Player list is in post #4.
Also, when you register, post up which group you think you should be in.
It does not mean you will be in that group, but just an idea of where you think you are.
At the moment it looks like the following number of players,
4 players in Group 1 - Strong/experience players
8 players in Group 2 - Intermediate players
4 players in Group 3 - Aspirant players

Few questions, first off being that i'm new to the NSW tourney scene but am newish to tournaments (only played in 4 last year) and have never played the TO how does that rank me in terms of the groups?
As a reletive newb if i come to this will i be smashed in the face round after round by people who have been in the scene for years or is there a chance that i might even win one game.
And being that i know no one at the tournament how could i grudge someone i have no grudge against?
Despite all that consider me signed up as i need to get my feet wet somewhere in NSW and this is as good a place as any, i'll be bringing my Blood Angels and pretty sure i'll be group 3.

If you have not played in a tournament, I will likely put you into Group 3, so it will be easier for you.
Since there is no margin of win being used in Grudge-Con, there is no incentive to smash people. Although I would advise to take each game as a learning experience, because that is what I want to make for these 1 day events - easy on the family and have a few games. Prizes is not only for winners but shared around, so there is a good chance that you could win something.
Pick anyone that you would like to play, even others in Group 3. Aim is to have fun and play against players that you have not played.
