I was wondering which Sydney tournament/convention was the biggest event, in terms of attendance and vendors. I haven't been to a gaming event before, and was hoping to make it to at least one this year.

MOAB in Slyvania on the Oct Long W/e; thou Leviathan is not bad either in the western suburbs close to Easter

I'll second both of those. MOAB is certainly the largest in Sydney however.

Of the two Leviathan would be the better of the two as it is 2 days not 3.

regardless of what event you go to take a list that you will enjoy using and don't worry about any of the soft scores.

Note that Lords of Terra was 40K only and doesn't have vendors there. Emperor's Legion and Battle in the Vines have separate 40K and WFB events.

MOAB and Leviathan have multiple events (ie 40K, WFB, Flames of War) and vendor stalls.

It depends what you are looking for, whether its gaming or vendors as well.

MOAB runs lots of different events, vendors, demo games and a BringNBuy. So the pure gaming numbers in each system isn't as high as the dedicated tournaments.

I should've been more specific in what I was looking for - I was looking for a tournament/convention with lots of vendors and a lot of different game systems being played, mostly just to soak up the atmosphere.

I'm not actually interested in competing yet, and was just hoping to wander around and check out the scene - and probably drop a weeks pay on impulse buys!

This year I intend to have a dungeon crawl going, complete with the hirst art tiles.

I was wondering if you have to pay to come and be a spectator at tournaments like Leviathan and MOAB - any info?

Entry to the hall at MOAB is free and you can spectate any events you want. We also have participation games that are free to join in playing.
