As the title says, looking for recommendations between those three.

Can't personally testify but I've heard great things about Munchkin from avid board gamers.

All of the munchkins. All of them.

How old are you guys? Does munchkin retain it's appeal for thirty year olds?

Depends on the size of your group too, nuclear war and illuminati are hoth better with 4+ players.

All 3 games are essentially about screwing people over so you also need a group that'll play in the spirit of fun.

Illuminati can take a while to play, nuclear war is generally fairly fast, munchkin can potentially reset so it can be either fast or slow.

Personally I have a soft spot for illuminati (any game with rules for cheating is a win in my books biggrin.gif ) ...

Nuclear war is a lot of fun especially in a larger group its revenge mechanic means even if you go out you do it in style ...

Munchkin is silly fun but if you're looking for any kind of depth it is just a cardgame albeit with a level of strategy (and bastardry)

All 3 are kimda silly but illuminati is the most serious and the most "gamey", nuclear war has decent strategy but is very light (fast anf unpredictable) and munchkin is very luck of the draw.

Always save that 100 megaton warhead for your final retal.

We always played nuke not with house rules but with certain.... understandings.....

New players die first - preferably by propaganda or secret before a shot has been fired.

Incorrectly draw or put down in the wrong order? You're next.

Yeah it does in my opinion similar to your typical party game like Scrabble/Pictionary. YMMV.

Thanks for the feedback. Illuminati is rising to the top, based mostly on personal bias with the comments here pushing it over the edge.

Sounds good - do let us know your findings on whichever one you decide to settle with.

Iluminati is good fun but it isnt a game I could play more than 2 or 3 games in a row, it just gets a little ....'samey'.

I think its a good game to play once or twice every couple of weeks

You must be in high school! No-one else has enough free time and uncommitted friends to be able to play games that often!

We're lucky to get together once a month, and we've got Carcassonne, Alhambra and Talisman to rotate through as well. At best, we might get through two games of Illuminati in a night if they take less than 90p minutes, but otherwise it'd be a month at least between games.

Mango is a wisened middle age gamer... just very dedicated.

I haven't played Nuclear War, but my preference would be illuminati... I've only played it once, but I thought it was quite good and would certainly play it again.

Munchkin i'm a bit meh about.. it's a bit too random and simple for me... but much quicker than Illuminati.
