It has a new trailer and a release date at last: September 21st.

I fear my supply of fizz may run dry before then....

Was a huge fan of the first, wife and I spent days playing co-op. But this looks even bazillionienderer!
Comrade
To say 'played to death' would understate how much I played Borderlands. Pumped for No.2!
Jimmy35
Definitely looking forward to this one. I loved the first, only decision is PC or Console? (I'd prefer PC but the people I would play co-op with are on Console)
Krefey
This is one of the 3-4 games I'm really looking forward to this year. Super keen to see how it rolls.

If it's even remotely close to the first one it should at least be worth the price of admission wink.gif
Durkah
The only part I like is the Co-Op.

But same engine, unless they changed the story / added more cool ###### then it won't be worth getting imo.

Stuff I've seen indicates there is actually a proper story for the game.
tenabrae
Other than the lame boss battle (and that was more a mechanical issue than because it was a boss battle because i felt it was pretty obvious where the story was going) I tohught the game had just the right amount of story to justify your continued journey... It's diablo, not skyrim. If you're there for the story you picked the wrong game, it's totally about loot-whoring and stupidity.

Mad Moxxie aside the DLC also showed they learnt a fair bit from the low points of the core game.
HairyDave
Yeah Dr. Ned was a lot of fun. Terrifying if you run out of ammo, but fun.
Comrade
Only problem with Ned was when they increased the level cap with Knox it became far too easy unless the zombies had massive weight in numbers, which they only did on the elevator up to Ned the first time round.
HairyDave
Depends what order you do the DLC in too. They stayed pretty much on my level throughout.
Kojihama
I am so down for this!
Griddon
This thread needs a kick. I found BL 1 to be an awesome game and super awesome couch co-op experience. The story was 100% meh but the action, cell shaded graphics and the semi RPG style to character building was pretty unique at the time.

BL2 looks really pretty. Looks like they have listened to criticisms and given a story a good go. Co-op looks more polished.

Not sure which character to go with. Like the gunslinging Gunzerker style but I see fun builds in each of the 4 characters.

I pre-ordered on Xbox from JB with premium content. Hopeful it arrives on release day. Be great to catch up with other Xboxers for co-op. Add Gridderoo.

Eh, one of my mates bought the 4 pack, so I got in on that action.
Master Aarott
I am unsure who will win out in character choice for me, gunzerker or commando. Hoping commando still has his awesome gun buffs.

Whats the time? Borderlands time...

Whats the time? Borderlands time...

Not quite. 10 or so hours to go according to steam.
Kordos
If PC co-op actually works then I will get this game

Loved Borderlands when we could actually get co-op to work – unfortunately that didn’t happen often enough
dedhed
I'm getting it but for the ps3. looks like not much hobby time for me for quite some time!!!!

That sucks for you... I have been playing it on steam since midnight
Discombobulate
grabbed it this afternoon.

waiting for 2yr old to go to bed (and wife) and then I'll crank it out
Griddon
Ordered it from JB. Though they say the ship games with Auspost, they lied. They shipped with Toll. So although delivery was attempted today, Toll took it back to Port Melbourne for collection, where Auspost would have left it at the local post office. Normally I don't buy from anyone who doesn't ship via Auspost for this reason.

So, my planned spare time tonight is wasted! Rage at JB Hifi! First world problems eh?

Still not sure what to roll for team play. Commando is favourite at the moment. Probably go Zero for solo.
Bloodbrotherdave
You playing on Xbox griddon ?
I got it this morning. Is a bit o fun. Good ol claptrap
Griddon
I will be when I get my copy tomorrow. Add me on gridderoo.

I was playing it PC -co-op with a mate last night. No problems that we ran into.

I was playing it on steam 9pm my time and midnight east australia time. It got released a bit earlier than that though in Aus. Damn living in another country!
Cyph
Played this a bit last night with a couple of people in the Mechwarrior unit I'm in, they were only level 3 so I started a siren just to run around with. Good fun with the phase lock stuff.

when they got up to lvl 7 I switched back to the commando, turret goodness. it's good in that quests that require you get like 4 of an item, that's 4 across all people, so yeah, makes it enjoyable as loot isn't really an issue.

Going to have a bit more of a bash tonight.

guns which explode like grenades when you reload them are fun.
Krefey
So a few things I noticed while playing last night. You can pick up ammo for weapons when you're already full on ammo. Same goes for health vials.

Use the telescopes around the place, they help unlock achievements.

Badass points are cross character, but each character starts collecting them from scratch. So you could end up with a particularly badass bonus to various things if you play a lot of characters.

It's worth exploring. I've already "discovered" an area in the first section that normal questing doesn't take you to.

Spoilerish

There are some borderlands logos hidden around the place. The first one I found was at the start in Claptraps Place. If you go up to them and "use" them, they are an achievement as well. So far I'm having fun. I've just started a siren to see what she's like and have a level 8 soldier somewhere.
tenabrae
My biggest gripe so far is dodgy hitboxes, and stuff shooting through/moving through terrain.
Glabrezu
I'll be pplayiing it on xbox this evening.

I can't remeember what my handle is for xbox live laugh.gif shows how much I use it.
Griddon
I got my copy. Got Zer0 to level 6. It's a good game... very good. It's simple enough but the ridiculous variety of guns is already amusing. I found a random grenade launcher that looks like a fairly normal assault rifle. 3 burst fire when zoomed. Killer.

Will play Zer0 as a sniper I think. Probably my solo character. Will play Commando as the team char.
Glabrezu
Got a gunzerker up to about level 7 or 8 last night. Lots of fun.

I'll have to work out the online side of it. Fairly obvious I'm not a regular player laugh.gif
Krefey
I'm enjoying it smile.gif I'm zathkey on steam if anyone wants to co-op it.
Billbies on fire
Who is playing on 360?
HairyDave
I've been playing the hell out of it for the last couple of days and I have to say the Siren is by far the most fun to play - though Zer0 is pretty damn good too.

Locking stuff down and then murdering it at point blank with a shotgun is just so damn satisfying smile.gif

****SPOILER WARNING****

Don't hijack the Hyperion train until you've finished all the sidequests that need to be turned in back at Sanctuary - the story mission will involve the town relocating and it may take a while to find it again.

****END SPOILER****

Forgot to add that the Gunzerker has the best dialog! "I stopped shooting people to help you" or "AKIMBO!" and I've heard him humming what sounds very close to "The Hall of the Mountain King" while in the middle of a murder-spree.
tenabrae
I wish i could turn zeros dialogue off, he has the most stupid lines.
Herald
Which class would be best for solo? I'm thinking of going soldier for solo.
HairyDave
Soldier would probably work okay but I think Assassin might be a little better. I don't think any of them really struggle running solo.
