The Australian Late War Grand Tournament has been run & won.

A great vibe all weekend, thanks to all the players for an awesome weekend.

We've taken a few photos & put them on our Photobucket site here.

And here are a few of the photos to check out.

Great looking tables.

I count two smiles out of the bunch.

Looks like they are waiting for the coffee on the first morning - no wonder they are looking grumpy!

Looking at this photo again they do look grumpy, but it was far from that. We had an awesome crowd of 40 FoW players from all the Eastern states. The vibe was great, this photo was taken at the first briefing, so people were still waking up, oh, and the bar hadn't opened yet!
Dru
ah Bar hadnt opened yet! Explains it.

Also, the cool dark yellow fields in the 2nd photo with vehicle tracks in em, where are they from? Sell em?

Maria made them. They were made out of some kind of door mat, and maria spent a million hours (she said it took forever) cutting the tracks out with clippers. Also I don't think she'll sell them, based on pure amount of time she put into them. Plus I wanna play on them. tongue.gif

They are door mats from Bunnings. Cost $4-10 for a door mat, cut it down to the sizes you require (we made 4 "wheat fields" out of this one), then take clippers & clip out the "tank tracks". It took about 30-40mins per field to clip them out.

The good news is that the clippings are going to make great, realistic looking hay stacks (when I get time to make them!).

Nice.... $2 shop nose hair clipper works, only lasts a few mats but .... smile.gif

Very nice tables, and I take it the coffee was behind the photographer!

Alas no time to scratch build that many buildings to that standard. They are JR Miniatures buildings. JR make some awesome 15 & 28mm stuff in resin. They also make some pretty average stuff in hydrostone, as long as you steer clear of the hydrostone you've a pretty safe bet of a nice piece of terrain.

Terrain looks fantastic. Need to find time to come over for a game soon!

I may not have been smiling- but I did have a great weekend.

Thanks to Maria and Crew for making it happen.

I got to drive toy tanks around some great looking tables, drink whiskey, drink coffee and hang out with some great people...
... I even won a couple of games...
