As there is a fairly large DE userbase here, I thought I'd ask how to model the various bits and what was what

The Codex is great but doesn't help too much...

I know the Dark Lance, Disintegrator, Shredder I -assume- is the thing with the two spikes the wyches carry, Splinter Rifle is easy, splinter pistol too... agoniser is anything that looks nasty iirc (so the lord with the claws has one if you so deem it to be one )...

Anyone shed any more light?

I called GW (I was half out of it) a while ago and asked if they had mini needles for the combat drugs and the guy said they'd stopped making them

Well i realised i need blasters the other day for my warriors. So since the assualt wep guys are pretty vague i just mae blunder-busses

A lot of the weapons for DE are pretty obscure so you can use a lot of things, just keep all your weapons of the same type looking the same.

the single model for the blasters and DL is not great either.....and most DE armies need several of them, so making your own is cool.

you can make a blaster by nipping the fins off a shredder easily enough, but also easy to take the stock end of a splinter cannon and glue a piece of round sprue/rod onto the end, using a dremel (or pre dremel days) a small screwdriver and candle to indent the sides with the blaster look, and then a file to create the rounded, knob like, end......cheap and reasonably effective.....did the same with my reaver jetbike blasters.

I'd take more care this time around though :-(

lol I'll show what I did with the jetbikes...

Basically spare cannons, nipped the ends, filed them roundish, left some bumps... not done yet, going to add some grooves snipped off the rifles on the bikes and loaded them into place with the friendly glue... hopefully it'll come out.

bah... when the camera gets back... parents took to the Champion's Trophy / under 15's state championship indoor in Canberra... bleh.

Actually if you can bare to pay the price I recommend you order a bunch of incubi shredders and blasters from Mail Order, you could also get some of the dark lances from the winged guys while you are at it.

Nah, effort > cost

I'm into hobbyist stuff more than playing atm, so I'll be building the lances and blasters

As I'm not going to use shredders, it won't matter...

the Stinger is the long one on the haemonculi isn't it?

The Stinger-armed haemonculus is the one with the pistol/needle like weapon. The Destructor-armed haemonculus has the scissorhands and the enlarged nozzle.

My blasters are from the old Eldar guardian melta guns - I've been fortunate enough to have enough for my entire army thus far, with a few spares.

My Shredders where converted from the Old Guardian flamers, although they've now become horrorfexes for my raiders :roll:

Dark Lances come from the blisters, the scourges, and from the raiders themselves. I so far have 2 warriors equipped with each type.

The extra $5 from Raider => Ravager is worth it for the bits =)
