the idea on the dragon build is to protect him from the s7 bunishemnts out there .

now with the new cap on cannons dragons are a vaible choice. As many teams will take them other will try to find ways to get rid of them ( bunishemt s7 ) so this is what i come up with to protect him from the immediate threats smile.gif

Initial thoughts.. (Not really caring what the ETC restrictions are)

General - ok - you've got plans for him..

Mages.. Light doesn't seem to be the best option for them, and running all 3 mages with it seems counter productive.. especially since you have the seerstaff on one anyways..

You've effectively maxed out the magic without taking a lord level caster.. so not much else can be said about that, except I'd still want a scroll in there..

BSB is hanging out with his wang out though.. No protection for him at all..

3 x 20 spears is somewhat underwhelming..

lions are good.. I get the sorc banner, but meh..

eagles are necessary..

Dunno - it relies a LOT on the dragon, and when he can get tied up in challenges since you're not death sniping champs, or don't have something as fast to take up challenges, he could get taken out that way.. you're gonna have to play pretty carefully..

Again - what's the theory re light??

Apart from that, there's somewhat underwhelming core, pretty nuts magic phase and a dragon..

Think if you're gonna go ETC hard you could go harder..

bsb is lvl1 mage of light


in my magic phase i have 2x s7 bunishment + 2 x phas protection

s7 bunishments can destroy even units of knights ( deathstars) and have the dragon finish them off .

this list was made with TKs in mind as many teams will use them in this ETC i have a dragon that these cant kill my bunushments withh evaporate even sphenx ( 3d6 s7 each bunishment ) or units of necro knights .

with skeinsilver i will have +2 to who goes first meaning 2turn charge with dragon and i wont even care about the stalkers

How do you get 2 banishments when its not a signature spell.

Seerstaff, if you have already picked the spell before the game, you are still allowed to roll forward it as well.

It's in the rules for spell selection.

Not convinced that tooling specifically for TK's, or any 1 army is a good idea, even in an ETC environment when there's a greater chance of getting preferable matchups..

I'd suggest 3 units of archers as a better option. As they will be in a line the main HE weakness to "template weapons" is somewhat abated. Look at maxing out on archers IMO.
Dragon hhmm nah.
A 4th level mage with shadow mahic IMO is the way to go. smile.gif. Those archers become very interesting then.

Just a quick one on this - You must select your spells when you write your army list if your wizard is allowed to choose spells in lieu of rolling for them.
Thats in the rules too!

So, to get x2 banishments, you must commit to your mage with the seerstaff to knowing the spell... now biggrin.gif

You know, I don't think that will bother him muchly!

Samanos, I like the list, although I think you might be overthinking the "limitation on cannons" bit. Reading the latest draft, I can only really see one limitation on Cannons, Empire can't have 2 + Stank. There is still a lot of stuff that will hurt your dragon rider....

( also dwarves now play with only one cannon and empire one cannon if they want tank

well they do have cannons but 1 is better than 3 tongue.gif

Dwarves can still have 3 cannons (or more predictably 2 cannons and 2 grudgethrowers).

Ogres can (sadly) only have one.

now with 4 machines dwarves will can only take 3 actual machines since one is the anvil

so most of them will go for
anvil
2xcatapult
1 cannon

To be honest though, a grudge thrower with 2x accuracy 1xpen is as bad as a cannon.

As a former dwarf player, I think it would be a tough choice to take 1 cannon and chose burning or not (obviously you hope burning). With Sphinxs, thundertusks, Ironblasters, Mortis Engines and all manner of big gribblie, I would be more tempted to take 2 cannon, 1 Grudgie this year. Mind you, I never played an Anvil, so probably 2 cannon, 2 grudgie would be my own choice.

Samanos, back on topic....I do like the list. Looks fun to play. You've combined got a fun magic phase, and a dragon. lots of Channel rolls and the crystal hopefully will compensate for lack of a l4 and only +3 to dispel rather than +5.

As has been pointed out, if you are looking to cull enemiew down before they get to you, with magic, why not throw in a little more shooting? Might help overall.

Another little tweak might be your dragon rider. Without my book, can you fit an amulet of light in place of the Ironcurse Icon? Making the Dragon attacks magical might be AWESOME in the right context, and I can't see it ever hurting. I'd probably drop the Sword of Might if I did this. HE Dragon riders never need to be about hurting someone when there is a Star Dragon. They just need to try and avoid death.

Overall though, I really like the list. It's not one I would use, but I can see it working. Protecting the mage bunkers might be tough against some opponents though....

Dude, your taking 4 wizards.... I have one word: Fireballs!! If your gonna go nut###### overboard with something you should make it super cool and just be hurling fireballs all day, then dragon the big stuff. Its a dragon, itll be fine (except against shaggoths.... Dont fight them)

Otherwise, playtest your LoL and report back. Personally I wouldnt be too scared of this list, but I run warriors so im not afraid of just wading through the hurt.

yes theodore i think i lack shooting as well. since i am going for the 2xs7 bunsihment all i need is shooting .
i will post an updated version of this list soon enough

Ronin. remember that fireballs are only s4 . S7 bunishments are scary ;)can kill a dragon or a greater deamon smile.gif never mind the fact that they can wound T5 monsters on +2 biggrin.gif
