Heya guys...

Looking for some pre made/cast rivers (sections) to use at the local. The ones that were used in Convic this year were brilliant, but does anyone know where to get them from and a rough indication of cost?

the ones used at ConVic were scratch built from my own collection. would it not be cheaper to get together with your club and build some? that way you can build river sections to the sizes you want. place fjords, bridges, on some sections etc.

all that's needed it mdf, flat foam sheets or clay (to do the side banks), and texture up the river sections in a way that suits you.

i've tried texturing the flowing water sections by eating the foam with metho (apply quick thin coats) but this ends up time consuming to paint. much better going for the flat water sections and adding gravel for the crossing areas.

Try Amera Plastic Moldings for some niffty pre-cast river sections.

Their cheap to boot as well.

You could also try Miniature World Maker. They are an Australian company and I've seen some of their work and it looks great. PM if you want some more details (like their wesite).

I think that the river sections I bought late last year were from these blokes.
About 6 - 7 foot in total for around 100 bucks.
I asked them if they could get it to me quickly and they were happy to oblige.

SoS at The Hobby Phase has some moulded plastic ones which look good and there's bends, bridges, waterfalls etc.
