Now i know a lot of people have been vanishing from our SA warhammer fantasy tourney scene over the last couple of seasons. I am one of those due to a few reasons.

In 2009 we were on the rise getting numbers in the low 30's attending events, i have noticed in my absence that numbers are back down to what they were like pre 2007.

If we want out WHF tourney scene here in SA to thrive and numbers at events to go on the incline we need to be proactive. I know that i for one find events numbering 18+ in numbers to be much more enjoyable with a better attmosphere than those in the small 8-16 numbered events.

Southern impact will be in july this year, 2500 points one day event on a sunday. Its the next event on our calender as far as i know. I say we get the ball rolling spread the word and see if we can get those numbers up!

cheers gus

excellent gentlemen, i will put the link to the discussion thread on here and i will be badgering the other "regulars" to get on it early.

I will also be creating a facebook event for "WHFSA tourneys" so if i could get everyones names to add them i will send out regular updates and links to tournament discussions on there.

Been meaning to give fantasy a crack for god knows how long. Maybe this'll be it.

Probably wont have an entire army painted though. Not used to doing armies with 150+ models.
valdreth
Thats alright mate, just try and get 3 basic colours on all your models and get them based with some movement trays, not all of us can be daniel wallace armata_PDT_10.gif

Crows feast will be in mid September again. Dates to be announced in the next month.

Honestly haven't played WFB in nearly a year, but I am looking at getting back into it at sometime soonish.

I'm currently just finding that any tournament over 2250 points to be a bit of a turn off. Sure we argue the optimal points limit of 8th ed gaming all day (and perhaps I'm the only one that prefers lower point limits), but that's my reaction to big WFB games at moment.

Also I'm really waiting for an 8th edition book for one of the armies that I play to spark that fire again. Hurry up GW and put out something that I want to use/buy!
valdreth
The empire didnt spark you daniel? I am eagerly awaiting the new bretts, so i can do another brett army this time im going to paint pretty colours armata_PDT_04.gif but DIN how will i game without my mentor armata_PDT_10.gif
