I've been working on a few things at once lately, this being one of them.
She's a Female Seer by Assassin Miniatures.
She had a really feline look to her, what with her little button nose, so I thought I would paint her as a part feline character.
Hope you like her!

Beautiful work as usual Zordana.
Particularly like the work on the blade and the cloth.(nice NMM and subtle creamy whites)

She's purty.
I love the work on the blade. Very neat. As usual, it's virtually impossible to find anything bad about your painting.

Fantastic work, she is quite the looker. I considered a cat joke, but it would be too low brow.

How dare you imply that low-brow humour can go too low!

Lovely work, as always. The clothing and NMM, not to mention your work on her skin, is excellent.

I made a new template because some people wanted larger shots.

I have one question: Why is she holding an apple?
Very very nice, especially the NMM (and i've grown apart from NMM recently, but this still looks nice)

zordana,
I was wondering how much time you would spend on one of those? (beautiful as it is

.) ....
I am an average painter (check out the nids- ha) so I was wondering how much time should be spent to get better results? on say character models... (my HT was about 4hrs + basing... but I'm planning on maybe that much again [once the army is table worthy] to detail it up and calm it down abit.... I'm don't want to compare my crap with your work but I was wondering what a realistic painting time was, to get to the top/great level?
I was wondering if you use any kind of magnifier for the finer work? at that level of painting....

I kinda paint my miniatures on and off over the space of several days when the mood strikes me, unless there is a time issue for a commission piece. Its kinda hard for me to figure out how long ive spent on one...
I probably spent about 6-8 hours on this chicky I think. I always say I will time myself next time I paint one but I keep forgetting and I lose track when im in painting world.
A friend of mine online sent me his pair of Mageyes, a little while back so I use them now when im painting bits on miniatures that are too fiddly for me to see with my eyes alone. Thankfully my eyes are pretty good so I don't need them very often

They are really cool though.

With those spots, she looks like Dax from deep space nine...do those spots go *all* the way down?

Hahaha.
Well, I think she has spots on her butt.

excelent work.
how do you get such smooth shade transitions?
Zordana
Dec 17 2005, 01:07 PM
I just thin my paints a lot and then layer each transition over the top. Each layer is slightly transparent so the more layers you put down the more opaque the paint gets.
This lady doesn't actually have the smoothest blending on parts, her skin could have been a lot smoother, but you can only really make that out in photos anyway

Holy crapola!
I love orange!
You HAVE to tell me how you do the maple style leaves!
Zordana
Dec 18 2005, 11:44 AM
Hehe, the leaves are Hudson & Allen Ivy. If you browse about for them on google you may be able to find an international hobby store that stocks them. Don't be scared away by the int. shipping either, it usually works out that they cost about the same as what you would buy them here for anyway.
They are very hard to find, so if you do find some for a reasonable price (try not to pay more than $15 a packet incl shipping) id snap them up.
