I've been working on a few things at once lately, this being one of them.

She's a Female Seer by Assassin Miniatures.

She had a really feline look to her, what with her little button nose, so I thought I would paint her as a part feline character. biggrin.gif

Hope you like her!
Evilgnome
Beautiful work as usual Zordana.

Particularly like the work on the blade and the cloth.(nice NMM and subtle creamy whites)
PullsyJr
She's purty.

I love the work on the blade. Very neat. As usual, it's virtually impossible to find anything bad about your painting.
Sunken
Damn i can't fault you either. That is awesome tongue.gif
Big Willy Style
Fantastic work, she is quite the looker. I considered a cat joke, but it would be too low brow.
Gonzoangel
Great work Zor, really liking the subtle markings down her side and on her face, lurvly!!

How dare you imply that low-brow humour can go too low!
Zordana
Lol I thought that said "she is quite the hooker" haha.

Thanks guys biggrin.gif

'Animality, Zordana Wins!'
Zordana
Hahaha

Lovely work, as always. The clothing and NMM, not to mention your work on her skin, is excellent.
Zordana
I made a new template because some people wanted larger shots.

Nice Irene, like always you continue to raise the bar.
SynapsyS
I have one question: Why is she holding an apple?

Very very nice, especially the NMM (and i've grown apart from NMM recently, but this still looks nice) smile.gif

You a limpbizkit fan are you Zor? Pretty sure its one of their liitle mascots in the corner there... wink.gif
Zordana
HEheh syn, I dont know. I suspect she may be going to go catch some pokemon. *suspicious look*

Me no likey limpbizkit. biggrin.gif One of my friends drew the imp for me.
waargh
Haha awesome, shes holding a pokeball! And a nice clean shiny blade to 'convince' them to be caught. tongue.gif

zordana,

I was wondering how much time you would spend on one of those? (beautiful as it is wink.gif .) ....
I am an average painter (check out the nids- ha) so I was wondering how much time should be spent to get better results? on say character models... (my HT was about 4hrs + basing... but I'm planning on maybe that much again [once the army is table worthy] to detail it up and calm it down abit.... I'm don't want to compare my crap with your work but I was wondering what a realistic painting time was, to get to the top/great level?

I was wondering if you use any kind of magnifier for the finer work? at that level of painting....

I kinda paint my miniatures on and off over the space of several days when the mood strikes me, unless there is a time issue for a commission piece. Its kinda hard for me to figure out how long ive spent on one...

I probably spent about 6-8 hours on this chicky I think. I always say I will time myself next time I paint one but I keep forgetting and I lose track when im in painting world.

A friend of mine online sent me his pair of Mageyes, a little while back so I use them now when im painting bits on miniatures that are too fiddly for me to see with my eyes alone. Thankfully my eyes are pretty good so I don't need them very often biggrin.gif They are really cool though.
PullsyJr
...with the added bonus that you'd look like a mad professor! What more could a girl want...?
Zordana
Indeed! I sit near the front window of my house, I wonder what the neighbours think when they see me with those things on...
Krefey
With those spots, she looks like Dax from deep space nine...do those spots go *all* the way down? wink.gif
Zordana
Hahaha.
Well, I think she has spots on her butt. biggrin.gif
bezelbub
excelent work.

how do you get such smooth shade transitions?
Zordana
I just thin my paints a lot and then layer each transition over the top. Each layer is slightly transparent so the more layers you put down the more opaque the paint gets.

This lady doesn't actually have the smoothest blending on parts, her skin could have been a lot smoother, but you can only really make that out in photos anyway smile.gif
slayer_king
Holy crapola!

I love orange! smile.gif

You HAVE to tell me how you do the maple style leaves! tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif
Zordana
Hehe, the leaves are Hudson & Allen Ivy. If you browse about for them on google you may be able to find an international hobby store that stocks them. Don't be scared away by the int. shipping either, it usually works out that they cost about the same as what you would buy them here for anyway.
They are very hard to find, so if you do find some for a reasonable price (try not to pay more than $15 a packet incl shipping) id snap them up.
