Ok something I am considering for a couple events in the next few months...

Thoughts and ideas?

The way Id play it is, use the destroyer with the wraiths, supported by the scarabs, with the immortals following behind for fire upport. The create the opening in an opponent, when my flyers all come on in and start causing problems for enemy lines.

HQ:

Destroyer Lord + Mind Shackle Scarabs + Sempiternal Weave

Troops:

10 Immortals

5 Man Warrior Squad w/ Night Scythe

5 Man Warrior Squad w/ Night Scythe

Fast Attack:

9 Scarabs

4 Wraiths w/ whip coils

Heavy Support:

Doom Scythe

Doom Scythe

Doom Scythe

While it certainly has a lot of firepower I would need to kill 20 models to prevent you from holding any objectives, so either to table me or you are looking at draws at best.

Also remember, you may well come up against another Necron army and they could well glance all your vehicles off the table.

It would look awesome, but I think you might have issues with many armies

While flyers are the bees knees at the moment, there are two things to consider;

1. Flyers have a limited use when they zoom to far, as they waste a turn flying off the table or turning around to kill more stuff. The 90degree turn and fixed weapons can prevent them from being devestating (except for the Doom scythes, which can apparently fire around corners!)

2. It will only be a matter of time before Anti-Air becomes the norm in the Codices - we have already seen the emergence of Flakk Missiles (though, nobody has the option of them yet). Flyers are vulnerable to other flyers and fortifications (Weapon emplacements).

Otherwise, its not bad.
Not what I would do, but not bad...
I think you over estimate the destructive potential from Tesmortals and the Wraiths.

Also, purchase Particle Casters for the Wraiths for an additional Attack (CCW from rulebook guidelines + Pistol)

What do you intend to do against guard where you're really going to need to take out a couple of vehicles first turn to stop them having their way with you?

I think sinking all your anti-tank into flyers is a big mistake.

Against carparks i would move the scarabs behind the immortals and wraiths. I would focus on one flank.

Its really a deployment you need to be wary of. Immortals are just to provide some initial cover fire than anything else.

Yes if my warriors get shot off then i drawhammer.
