Nice solid army list. However its really handy to arm your xbows and thunderers with shields. Also if you can afford it, up the numbers on your units. This stops you being whittled down before combat so as you dont get beaten on combat resolution.

I would give the General a GW. saves a few points and a good combo with the +1 save and T5.
make the ironbreakers bigger.
the 4th character (thane) could be a good option to drop to get bigger units.
i found units of 20 were good but really got shown the awesome power of 25 strong dwarf units when my dwarves fought Chunky.
I'd be inclined to drop one warmachine, the thane and maybe a unit of Xbows and get one more unit of grunts and up the size of some units, in particular the IB who are worth their weight in mithril and will be targeted into oblivion by magic/shooty lists. need numbers just to get into combat
anyway, just my thoughts. always great to see a dwarf list. good luck at DC4.

Yep, the ironbreakers need to be bigger, a big unit of them is powerful.
I like taking 20, hard unit to beat.

And i bet your opponents like dodging them until turn five or six when they pick up a flank/rear charge 8)
I think you should drop the 4th charecter and bump up the units of croosbowman and thunderer units up to 12 with shilds so if needed they can ,with the help of a charecter, forfill combat roles as well.
Good luck at dogcon and if possible let me know how the small unit of ironbreakers go

Thunders and xbow units need shields. As said before drop the 4th chara and give the general a GW. 20 IB if used well will beat off most units in a straight fight but when flanked it is all down hill or avoided and equal a points sink so your choice 20 strong hard as nails or 12 strong speed hump
i'd drop them for more thunders

Thanks for all the help guys--will have a look at what models I have available-- I know that I only have ten THUNDERERS but I think I have enough of the other units to bump them up.
The fourth character was only added as an afterthought so dropping it wont be a big deal .
Will post a revised list soon.
OH and Dozzy if you want some practice let me know --I can come to your place or you can come here --my new job has given me my life back :-D

If you reckon your beardy plate of cheddar can last the distance against the Sylvanian cream puffs.
Let me know what list you of mine (see other post) that you think you have the best chance against.
I'm not back until the weekend so I am unsure what SWMBO has organised, but we can work something out.

I would definatly bump up the unit of IB's to 20, if you are going to take them. I will be running my first Dogcon Dwarf army list this weekend, so I can update you later as to what I have discovered. (Like Dwarfs are slow).
I have some idea's, but I feel a lot will be scrapped between now and then, as ever.....

My view on Dwarves is that you need units that can survive the autobreak (fear). Bigger units are better at this so I would be inclined for 25 (5x5) warrior units.
I cannot see any point in such a small unit of ironbreakers, if you are running out of models put them in with the other warrior units to beef them up. Represents champions and veterans who have earnt their better armour.
Otherwise although the flame cannon is a great model I have rarely if ever been able to get its points back. Another bolt thrower would be just as good. Shields would certianly help your missile troops which will be targeted.
The BSB with Master Rune of Fear should go in an even bigger unit than 25. You may ber able to break non fear causing enemies through this tactic. I have seen it used to good effect in tournaments.

My flame cannon managed some good damage in it's first game. Did not blow up, and squirted off 4 big gouts of flame. Of course, it is the best weapon vs Trolls.....
Of course, a Dwarf Warrior unit, with Great Weapons and Heavy Armour, and being 30 models in size (with command and Veteran) is 355 points. With a BSB and master rune of fear, it is 514 points. A lot in a 2250 points game....

I'd definately up the units to 25 for the warriors, if that means having to drop crossbowmen or thunderers (personnaly i'd drop thunderers) its worth it, remember you need as much combat inf as possible.
And def upgrade the amount of ironbreakers to 20.
Personally i'd drop the flame cannon and cannon for more dwarfs, and i'd also get rid of one of the runes of pen on the bolt thrower and give it the master rune of 2+
