Just been cruising the Rackham store looking at various Miniatures.

Stumbled upon the Fianna Keltois Models....very nice!

Got me thinking, would it make a viable/competetive list??

And Would it be themey??

Suggestions, Comments and Critiscims biggrin.gif

Hey mate.

Im confused... You like the fianna mini's but whats the list? A list with the various fianna type models?
Diesel
Sorry yeah,

A list made from just Fianna Models........probably including Gwaelyn and the Queen of Fiannas.

Cheers

it used to be more then popular, it used to be overused... however nowdays with res and str meaning more its less viable... doable but you would still need some big boys to back up the ladies

Lol S2C wolfen and sessairs tongue.gif

Not viable IMO:

Virae is 125 AP on her own, and works best when you have less Fiannas in your army than other troops. Playing both Virae and Gwen is a point sink as you are paying a substantial additional cost for leadership.

No ranged attack, or magic and very poor resilience all around.

On the bright side Sinishera will be your source of speed and having such a swarmy army around Virae will give plenty of faith. n.b. you are looking at playing about 16 standard Fiannas just to match costs with Virae and Gwen (50% max. character points cost).

My 2 cents,

Dennis

Thanks guys biggrin.gif

It was just an idea, and the thought of having an army of warrior chicks was very tempting biggrin.gif

I think I'll play abit first then, think about another army.....back to the Wolfen!!

I reckon a fianna force that would work is Koren the chosen plus a few spasm warriors backed up by fiannas.....maybe a minotaur as well.....use the fiannas as bait to set the spasm warrioirs off and koren and the minotaur to hit em hard.....
Dennis
Fiannas role in a Kelt force... they are a mid-cost troop and are useful because they provide high INI and DEF (compared to other Kelts). They work best supporting low INI troops like Giants or Minotaurs. Fianna Warstaff is also currently the strongest (i.e. Veteran) for Sessairs.

Not recommended as bait because there are cheaper Kelt Warriors with the same RES for that... Actually almost all the standard troops have a RES of 3, so best to send the most expendable smile.gif.

I wouldn't really recommend Koren, as you won't fit him in the same army as Virae (both cost alot of AP). IMO from a pure gaming point of view, Giants and Sons of Ogmios are best parnerships for Fianna.

Spasm Warriors can be hit or miss... Both rules for spasming have their drawbacks and they ars a little less effective compared to in C2... Definitely alot of fun though.

My 2 cents,

Dennis
