Firstly I would like to say thankyou to Ghetti for inviting us to sponsor this event. We are very happy to be a part of it, and are wishing we could be there to see it all unfold (reserve us a seat for next year). It's events, TO's and players alike that help us get our name and product lines out there to the masses. Cheers Ghetti!

Which leads me to my second point, I think a big thankyou needs to go out to all the players! Obviously without you, events like this just dont happen. We admire your commitment, enthusiasm and ability to share in something great. We just hope we can help by adding to that.

This is our first year sposoring this event (all events actually), as we get to know the Tournament Calendar for our first year in business. As these events pop up we will endevour to lend our support. As the months and years roll by we hope to be able to become a part of the wargaming community in Australia. Small steps at first, but we endevour to get there.

So with that said, we here at Back To Base-ix hope everyone has a smashing time and enjoy our contributuion to this years event (could be something in it for everyone...).

May your deployment be favourable, and your dice roll well! Have a good one guys and gals!

thanks aaron, my army will be fully based on your lava bases and I understand a few other players have used your bases so it should be a bit of a showcase...

thanks also for sponsoring SACON.

I've got to say though, when you introduced yourself at SACON, I had absolutely no idea who you were, all I got was your first name....I wanted to have a bit of a chat about your products, discuss painting techniques and so on, but being in the middle of a game and not realising you were Aaron Cains the moment slipped by....damn !

next time....."Hi, I'm Aaron CAINS, from BACK to Base-IX", then I'll wake up....biggrin.gif

Hi Aaron,

I love your bases and have bought a couple of lots on Ebay (sellin_mike) and I think they are fantastic, my world eaters are going to look awesome.

Cheers

Stray, hehe, sorry about that. It's so easy to be a sales rep from behind a keyboard, when compared to being on the road. I'll get use to it, I'm sure. Next time I'll make sure I make a grand entrance, announcing my pub relations (or lack there of) to all before me tongue.gif We'll catch up again at some stage, I am sure.

Mike, cheers for the kinds words. I'm glad you have enjoyed them thus far. Here's to making your army look that bit extra!

Seems like there might be a few of our products kicking around on the day (already in use), which is awesome! We're excited about what we have planned for our future and hope you people can enjoy them as much as we do designing them.

Cheers Aaron,
Support of tourneys in any way will always receive the gratitude of TO's and players alike.
It's nice to feel like you guys want to put something back in to the community that assists the growth of your business.
Much appreciated.

As others have said, I too have some of your bases (ebay special pack purchase)...and I'm starting to wonder who doesn't? wink.gif biggrin.gif

Shame you can't make it...maybe next time.

Cheers

Whilst this may sound a little "un-appreciative" (which it isn't at all!!!)...

Does this mean we will have a "BUY BACK-2_BASIX BASES!!!!" before every round Kane? I hate that sad.gif

Back-2-Basix bases are great and I am all for their support of the Australian gaming community, I just don't like being force fed is all biggrin.gif

Speedy, B2B bases are simply the best product out there! And the prices just cant be beaten. Aaron has sponcered my last few events I have run and B2B bases are always a hit.

I can not give Aaron more praise, his sponcorship is amazing!

speedy, put a sock in it otherwise nicole's restaraunt won't get the gig.....biggrin.gif

ha ha, just joking, I know what you mean.....but most TO's are light on the plug, plug, plug side. In this case, the product speaks for itself....

Like to add my name to the list of players who appreciate your fine product range, Aaron.

I picked up some myself as part of a prize pack, I guess it must have been Emperor's Legion. Thanks and you'll be hearing from me if you want to sponsor more tournies... wink.gif

I'll add my name to someone that has not heard of you and had to read several posts to find your your organisation name and what you sell.

Trade stands attending the tournament is usually a good idea. Kane can you tell us what the lsit of trade stands that might be attending will be.

It's often a good way to introduce your company and product to new prospective customers.
cmdr_roy
KDC, as far as im aware there wont be any trade stands at Liber (they are generally reserved for Cons).
Back to Base-ix are sponsoring the event with some prize support (not going to blow Kanes secrets here, you will have to wait).
Check out their eBay store for the stuff they stock, it really is good casting and easy to use. Bit of superglue or drill it for pinning.

Thats a shame that there won't be any trade stands / presence. Isn't 60 potential customers enough to stimulate a real world effort?

I hate ebay presence. IMHO if you are a real store get a website with commercial payment options. I want to go and buy something and know what price it is and that it is in stock. I don't expect to walk into a GW store and have to bid for a box of figures with a closure date of next tuesday at 9pm, why would I do that for online purchasing?

I do most of my game purchasing on line, in general it is easier and cheaper (especially from the UK) than buying it locally.

Clicking on the WAU link show some nice looking product is there a real way to buy these things?
Also with bases being much higer than the GW bases do you get shafted by LOS players of hiding behind a hill?
Ghetti
Well, this has already turned in to an interesting thread biggrin.gif

First of all, huge welcome to "Back to Base-ix" and a huge thanks for the prize support. Massively appreciated and I hope the sponsorship extends in to the future.

Speedy: Yah goose, I'm not going to force feed you, the Back to Base-ix product speaks for itself. But, since you've been a pain I might have to personally come up to your gaming table every round, every 5 minutes and just yell it in your ear! tongue.gif Or get Bigred to do it, he's got a booming voice when he cranks it up armata_PDT_34.gif

Kargan: Back to Base-ix have a very easy to use ebay 'store'. There are indeed auctions however, all product can be instantly purchased via "buy now" options which IMHO are still at very good prices. It also displays amount in stock from memory. So to me, is as good as a independent website but with the added advantage of being able to bid on items to possibly get a lower price.

As for bases making troops higher, why should that be a problem... there are levels in 40k now, yah?

Personally, I find them very easy to use and it makes building an army that much easier. Awesome product at fantastic prices. $5 for 10 bases is a steal.

Cheers,

I have to agree with Ghetti, the product is sensational allows to emphasises poses for models without having to fiddle around with material (a bit lazy on my part but they look so good), there is also variety of designs so not all bases have to look alike.

And their ebay store is great you can also get their newsletter on new relases and so on, and even though some are auctioned most can be bought directly at a fix price and shipping cost are real good too.
Bishop
Kargan...use Aarons ebay store as a 'shop window' then email him with your requests if it is specific and not suited to 'buy now' lots.
I did this, he packaged it in to a special lot for me and now I have a complete EC army with B2B bases of varying sizes and styles.
They couldn't be more accomodating.

The impression that I get is the ebay store allows them to market to a wider audience than a strict e-commerce site ever would.
Lower fee's associated by utilising ebay's payment systems vs. direct bank e-commerce, online gallery, advertising via auctions, e-newsletter management etc, etc all makes better business sense/practice imo than a standard e-commerce site.

They are also an interstate mob (based in SA iirc), not local VIC so trade table expenses would probably outweigh potential profit from sales from such a limited market of 60 players.

I think B2B sponsoring an event should be enough to warrant giving them a go...let alone all the good word-of-mouth they are receiving.

Cheers

If you have a 2" high base, are you still only Level 2 (since the model is standing on top of it)? What if you have models behind that are only on 1" high bases - is LOS blocked?
