After getting the tip from The Herd Stone? that the Chronopia Horned One Blood Totem would make a good Beastmen Giant model, I slapped down the $US28.60 including shipping to Australia at The War Store as I couldn't find it locally.

Between ordering it and it arriving I spotted one in action at Dogcon in Paul's army, it was being used in it's standard position with extra wings added as a Daemon Prince of Khorne. He mentioned he had spotted it on The Herdstone as well and bought one, when he recieved his it was missing an arm IIRC.

Forewarned I double checked my pack when it was delivered and found I had two of the same horns for it's head, rather than one for each side - a quick email to Excelsior (makers of Chronopia) sorted that out and it's in the mail.

I preferred Khornesone from The Herdstone's standing version rather than the standard crouched down version:

so have endeavoured to fit mine onto a 50mm base. As you can see from the pictures:

the model can fit easily, and the comparison pic below shows it's relative size to a gor. Mine is a tad more upright than the pic at the top as I was looking for more height on the model.

I'm in the process of adding a horses hind quarter to it's left hand and maybe the rest of the horse to the left hand. I have to do something because I can't live with the "STOP, in the name of love..." pose it currently has.

I was planning on taking this big boy to a tournament next weekend, but that'll be dependant on a paint job and the horn turning up in the post.

that's pretty cool. i like that.

just wondering if you could easily swap that hand for something off a Minotaur Lord / Deamon Prince / Greater Daemon so that he looks a little less traffic cop and a little more armed with a big sod off axe?

have you got a link to where you got it from? i'd like to see the component break up if possible.
GT
Possum you can get it from Excelsior Entertainment:

but I got mine from The War Store:

There is also this model available, the Dark Tusk Blood Keeper:

As for components, you can see from my bottom pic that the green stuff seperates the body parts of legs (x2), hips, torso (x2 halves), arms (x2), head and horns.

cheers. can't really tell from the pic, have you done anything to the hind right leg? looks like you've straightened it out a little bit - though it could just be the angle of the photo...
GT
Dave, I haven't done anything to the legs, apart from drilling, pinning and glueing them into the hip sockets.

The missing horn turned up, so I've completed putting together the model, green stuffed the last cracks and given him an undercoat of white.

I also took the time to put together a Standing Stone covered in Wood Elf carvings an placed it in position with blu tack (so it can be removed while the giant gets painted) to give the look that he's pushing it over.

Paint job is next on the agenda.

hmmm not too sure about the stone, it's a bit cumbersome

but love how the figure is coming along
drozzy
i like the stone, i needs a good covering of rubble around the bottom though, and maybe a split piece of stone for the 'foundation'

thats a very nice model, and will make an awesome giant

Hey
Why not try cutting the right hand at the wrist , turning it 90 degrees or so so the palm is facing out and have it pushing the Stone\Tree\Whatever out of the way sideways, that way he looks like he is advancing, you have frontage for games and charging and he looks less traffic coppish.

I reckon it would look great and give the pose the look of strength.

Just an Idea

Hey! Stop picking on Wood Elves!
(I reon that looks awesome GT)

You could also reposition the hands to hold a club with it resting in the "Stop!" hand

Here's the current final basecoated version, with the first midcoat of the grey skin on:
