Hola!

well, here is what i have been working on for, well, today, a scratchbuilt bone giant, primarily because the GW version/s, is, in plain truth, butt ugly. So i made up and armature, and off i went, my first step into this model, was fleshing over the paper clips and wire (hehhe, flesh, on a bone giant...*bad pun*)

so, heres some preliminary pictures of its development, mainly just the underlay for the bone structure to be laid upon. also i will add some plasticard/chainmail to cover ugly/hard to model sections, such as the pelvis and rib cage.

he will be armed with a double handed halbard liek weapon (similair to the ushabti weapons, but bigger, and more plasticard-ish)

enough chit chat, here it is!:

How tall is that, Droz? Did you make it any bigger than the GW version?

Anywho.. this'll be interesting I'm sure tongue.gif

Hmmm.... that gives me an idea...
Droz - go down to your local butcher and ask for a chicken skeleton, then just wire it all up. I'm sure your opponents will be terrified to see a 200 foot tall chicken skeleton racing towards them laugh.gif

i had thoght of that estel, yet a problem arose in the form that those bones still have marrow in them, which would eventually rot..

this one, i found on the beach, looks like a dog bone, toy sized.

which brings up a sexual inuendo about having a bone between his legs...sigh...

anyways, will add some mroe whence i get home tonight, basically the armoured area around the torso...

a quick question, would chainmail (torn/ripped) look suitable on a tomb kings model?
estel
I'd be more inclined to go for plate mail and cloth armour.
Given that the Tomb Kings are based on Egyptians, who rarely (if ever) used heavy chain mail to my knowledge.
I'd have to do some research to get a conclusive answer for what would be most 'authentic' though.

here we go, an update:

after playing around with the sculpting of a skull, i realised it would look just as dodgy as the GW 'smily' versions...

so after a little thinking, and a big hand from thorfinn, i acquired a totally stripped rats skull, nifty, huh (he found it in the back of his shed, been there for years, apparently they ate snail bait)

anyways, ive made the chest plate, the circular armour piece, and starting some armour, to cover some of the wide expanses of bone.

i also started on the weapon, which will look akin to one of the ushabti weapons, just a lot bigger.
