Hey all,

Well after Trent had publicly called out all us Warhammer Fantasy Generals to start talking about our current projects, I felt shamed enough to do so.

Ok, so as some of you will know, I have several projects on the go, and often take several years to complete them. So...I've made a vow to finish off two armies this year. The first is this, my Empire army. The second will be my Carnival of Corruption (Nurgle), which I started a couple of years back, but never completed...or I may do my Lizardmen army.

But meanwhile, back to this one.

I've been picking up alternative miniatures and hard to get OOP GW ones to create this army. Inspired by GT's own Empire force, this one is going to be based around a Conquistador army. However, I'm still torn between doing a Tilean army which is basically a Soldiers of fortune style of theme (Merchants backing adventurers to deliver fabled gold and relics), or doing a Spanish Inquisition force. Basically Witch Hunters charged with ensuring the new world is pure and Godly (haha).

I have a whole chunk of Rackham Griffons for this (Witch hunters, sharp shooters etc), as well as a bunch of pirate minis for the free company.

So the first question is, Inquisition or treasure seekers...or do I do both? Giving myself flexibilty in fielding a force.

So far, I've built a steam tank frm scratch, assembled a bunch of game zone minis, and stripped a heap of Pirazzo's lost legion minis, and painted a few test figures.

Awesome Mark!

I always loved the Conquistadors, so this army should look the business. Make sure you do them Yellow and Red! smile.gif

EDIT: Whoops, you beat me too it by already posting some painted models, which are those colours! Yay!

And the entire army sitting on my shelf awaiting paint!

So, just the Gamezone Knights to assemble which should be here anyday soon, as well as a few extra figures to flesh out the army.

I'm going to have them on a ruined paved road, with jungle foliage and creatures as bases. The free company (pirates / ships crew) will be on a mixed beach / jungle base.

So...there ya go. My latest insane project!

Love the basing idea too Gronky.

I just saw National Treasure 2 and that had a little bit of the old Aztec civilisation in it, so I am right into their culture and that time period at the moment.

cheaky
that's unreal.

I love crazy projects!

Where did you order the gamezone minis from? I love their stuff.
gronk
I usually get them from Battlefield Berlin, in good ole Germany. Thats only because I normally get a heap of other manufacturers minis at the same time.

Normally pretty good, though I am disapointed with my latest order which seems to be taking an age!

like the others...awesome army...love the minis...GZ do great minis...pity they dont have a retailer here....
um definately looks more like a Tilean back army.....also if u style it as a tilean army it allows ya add the whole inquisition thing later on....

think of it as the first ever expeditionay force...hence the church isnt really interested.....
u can take a chaplain for the ships crew for fluff....

then later if ya want to expand...add more priests/cardinals
Dave
Great minis, gonna turn this into a great army.
