As far as I know, you get 1k of credits to start off with. I've noticed a few rosters leave a few spare to help pay for gear/services after the first match.

I may be able to help you here. I've played primarly scavvies for years now and can knock together a pretty nasty gang of the buggers. I usualy run something like this:

Boss w/Autopistol, Sword, Shotgun (Manstoppers), Club
Scaly w/Massive Axe, Tox Bombs
Scaly w/ Scatter Cannon
Scavvie w/Wings, Massive Axe
Scavvie w/Extra Arm, 2 Autopistols, Club
3 Scavvies w/Autopistol, Club
4 Scavvies w/Shotgun, Club
Creds left over for zombies

This is using the classic scavvie rules, not the LRB ones.

I find that, playing scavvies, the first few games are losses or hard-fought wins. However, the extra experience you get makes them a formidable force later in the campaign.
