Hi,

A presumptuous topic no? I mean, nobody has even been invited yet!

However I thought, whilst all the (positive) feedback is still coming in, that some suggestions for next year might be in order.

Therefore... mine is....

Please allow White Dwarf Chapter Approved stuff and Imperial Armour lists. If you don't have a copy of the relevant rules/army lists, ensure people provide you with the rules.

My reasoning is that they allow some extra breadth of army character (as Kane might say, the UFK stuff) which was missing this year. Obviously no super-heavies of course!

Things that would be kewl to see (in no particular order):
-> Lost and the Damned - IA: Seige of Vraks
-> Zealots - WD Chapter Approved
-> Nid stuff - IAIII
-> Tarantulas - IAI/IAII
-> VDR (would have to supply army list, rules and photos early to ensure it fits with the ethos of the 40k universe and also the ethos of the tournament!) - WD
-> Some of the Creature Feature - WD
-> Extra IG Doctrines (I am thinking of a particular army when I type this) - WD
-> Deathwatch Kill Teams - WD
-> Cursed Founding Chapters - WD
-> Grey Knight Dreadnoughts with Psycannons!

I think that allowing them would do nothing but add character to the tournament - I can't remember any winners in the last few years using anything from them when they were allowed to... so they are hardly game breakers! smile.gif

Cheers

Like you'd be invited! biggrin.gif

At least suggest something sensible... if you can!

I don't like the idea of army lists that were released in WD from before the current edition of the codexes.

If you want to go that way then ou open the door to potential attrocities like the movie marines,

the death company list, the flesh tearers all the IA lists for the chaos legions and space marine chapters like Iron hands (who had much better rules in the IA list than they got in the codex).

I am also not a fan of the VDR, tyranid gargantuan creature list. It is too easy for some kind of untestable powercombo to slip through, genestealers on malefactor transports, Necron light tanks, Tau assault AI robots and other army list hole fillers.

Having said that I would echo your list for additional articles and IG doctrines and the FW lists.

I'm pretty sure a new rule needs to be brought in to ban rat from wearing those pants ever again...

Yep sure - anything that is not compatible with the current codexes (i.e. any of the IA articles) would be out. Although Movie Marines would be cool... I think there was a squad done for a Golden Daemon a number of years ago (from B&C or Dakka) where each model was named and modelled by one of the members of the forum. There were Marines leaping over barrels and firing bolters and bolt pistols two handed... looked great.

Again, unlikely to be a game breaker... but a bit silly nonetheless. SO NO LEIGH! smile.gif

I thought I put a caveat up about how any VDR would have to fit the ethos?

All good thoughts Hagen. Am sure though that a lot will hang in the air until the 5th ed is out. Dunno how the mission formats may change. Which of course is going to make some lists more competitive than others. May even make some tooooooo good.
The Nothas
Please allow zealots for Witch Hunters, my list almost revovles around these nutbags.

..and good call Hagen the spice of life is neither posh nor scary

So thread (and subforum for that matter) necromancy aside I thought I'd chuck a post in for old time's sake. Havn't been on wau nor even wargamed since my ill-fated adventures at Liber V so I guess somewhat appropriate that I post in here.

I'm bringing Salamanders.

Flamers: the new cheese.

I pinky promise to play you this time Hagen.

What makes you think you're coming Speedy? I mean... you know... possible increased insurance excess for differently abled people and all that... weighing up those costs... unsure.gif ... ... hang on, that include the South Australians as well.
