Thats right people's i won something, i most say it was some great games i played to win this award. Putting up a great fight to even win 1 game, and at the end of the day i got a cool looking certificate some Back2Basic's base and a nice big WOODEN SPOON!!!!

I would just like to thank all th players who dropped out during the day so that i could win the Avenger Award coming in at 48th out of the 48 players left at the end of the day.

In Rob's defence, 12 players dropped out during the day so I doubt he would have been stuck at 48th. The slack 12 probably would have won more games and dropped Rob to 60th instead

You have cemented your place as the person we get to play against any new members that turn up to GROTS. At least they will win their first game What did Jane say when she saw it? I know you were looking forward to her reaction.

Well Luke after Jane stopped laughing and wiped the tears from hear eyes( from laughing to hard). She agreed with my idea, that i should take up stamp collecting, as it's harder to get your Butt kicked by a 12 year old at it. Plus stamps are a lot cheaper then mini's.

Now its back to my corner to hide......

I had a horrible weekend of it as well rob, you probably would have beaten me if we'd been drawn together. I can sympathise though, the only thing worse then drawing a 12 yr old opponent who doesn't really know how to play at a tournament is getting beaten by said 12 yr old.

Taking home an award was simply a bonus.
Rob - well done man. The Avenger award is often a hotly contested award at JD...especially when players realise there is a genuine wooden spoon up for grabs.
Shaun - Luke is right. We topped out at 52 in the end with some withdrawls before we even started and then a slow demise throughout the day. Rob deservedly won the award having played all 5 games.
Scott - your playing prowess has been talked up in other threads. Mostly by yourself but anyway I can only assume you left it at the bottom of the bottle you where drinking when you were posting on WAU at 1:23am on the morning of JD.
Simon - aprreciate the support mate and I'll push for WSWA to reciprocate in kind.

hey rob you gonna bring the spoon on sunday?but hey man at least you made it through the whole day ,i was trying to get my army up and running by then but trying to paint my eldar while all i dealt with more personal issues just wasn't going to work,something had to give unfortunately, family comes first.

Honestly Mark it had been a tough week and an even tougher weekend. My mind really wasn't in it on saturday. That and I didn't realise how badly my army was going to deal with both the meta and the missions. I'll have to make a good show of the next 1500 i play at. Or failing that bring the pain at some WM events.
