Hey all!
I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to model dead warriors onto bases.
I'm in the process on getting a Dark Elf maticore ready for pilgramage and I wanted to chuck a dead High Elf warrior on as part of the base.
My greenstuff skills are minimal at the moment but I was thinking along the lines of the warrior slumped over a rock or against something with crossbow bolts sticking out of him or something along those lines.
Thanks in advance guys!

Cheers!

Plastic warriors are easy to convert up this way. If you remove and trim their limbs the right way, they'll look like a naturally-falling body - you may need some green stuff to smooth joins, but it's possible to do it without GS.

Carefully composing any other elements of the base - a rock, tree root, etc can help here too.

Thanks for that mate!
I'll bug my local High Elf player to see if he has any spare figs.
I've got the idea in my head about what I want to do so I think trying to find as many pictures as I can of this kind of basing.
Using GS will be interesting but I'll give it a go!
Thanks again for your help.
I'll post pics when it's underway.
Cheers!

I made up a dead "Universe today" reporter for RT (40k) many years ago (a guy I played against a few times would field a news crew in games. This was my dig at him), but I really couldn't be bothered these days making "casualty" markers (although, in the old days, it was easier, as casualty figures were actually produced by GW.).

You often need to file body parts quite a bit so the casualty slumps 'into' the terrain kinda, rather than appearing to float off the surface of it.

i've got a few of the new spearmen spare, i may be able to help out hainzy.

i think there isn't much you could do with them, they're bad poses.

Ah crap!
Why on earth would they stop making casualty figs?
They'd have so many uses!
Oh well, I guess it's greenstuff for me then!

Hey mate!
How was the trip home?
I'll see how I go.
I can get Mouse to give me a hand and I've T'd up some High Elf bits so it should be ok.
If I'm struggling I'll let you know early on but I'd like to have everything finished by the time I get there so we can concentrate on getting boozy!
Thanks for the offer though Horse!
Hope works going ok mate!! armata_PDT_07.gif

If you can get hold of the previous edition of Shadow Warriors, there are a couple of poses that work really well as bodies. I've used one under a black dragon to reasonable effect

Cool!
Thanks for that mate!
I've just had a mate drop off a box of High Elf bits so I hope that the is a Shadow Warrior or two in it!
I also got the High Elf Dragon today as well and there is a nice bit of a broken/crumbling High Elf rune which will work perfectly with the type of base I want to create!
Cheers!
