I've gotten the customers OK to show off these, seeing as he hasn't...
Bear in mind, I'm a crap photographer, so I take heaps of pics, and keep the not too crap ones biggrin.gif

Striking Scorpians, the first 6 of 12. These are PIP, but almost done, bar some final highlighting and basing.
IPB Image

Rangers. Unfortunatly, a dodgy batch of undercoat (damn stuff flaked off) means these guys need to get repainted, but here's what they looked like before getting stripped...
IPB Image

Farseer. Same batch of undercoat unfortunatly sad.gif
IPB Image

Asurman. Again, same undercaot, so he's now stripped, ready for re-painting.
IPB Image

Storm Guardians. Bases hadn't been painted at the time of the pic, bar the 'niddy bits.

One Avenger Squad

And the Exarch

The other Avenger Squad

More to come as I get around to uploading the pics smile.gif

biggrin.gif oooh pretty pansies !
well done, love the symbols on the waveserpent the best very striking!
a very big pity about the undercoat.... sad.gif
are the scorps weapons bone? kinda hard to tell from the pics,(sorry,no offence)
The Bladestorm guy looks very "John Woo"ish with his twin shooters!

Mithril
Evilgnome
Great looking army!

Like the Avenger Exarch with the twin catapults.
Orc Town Grot
Nice work...

Do hate it when the undercoat flakes

I think the waveserpent and the dire evengers are my favourites of your stuff. Very smooth colours and lovely bone! Perhaps it's the photo, but the scorpions look a little flat. Any chance of less bright pics?
chromedog
Undercoat flaking is a sure sign that someone used regular paint as 'primer' and not a proper 'primer' (which chemically bonds to the surface and has a better surface for paint adherence as well.

V nice work on these eldar, though. Good colours, and the Farseer is outstanding.

As to the taking of crap pics. Keeping the good ones is something even the best pro snappers do (why would you bother keeping the crap ones? unless you were an 'art' photographer (?) ).
DentedHead
Thanks guys biggrin.gif

Yeah, the Scorps pic is very ordinary, but I don't have a camera till this evening, so new ones will have to wait till then. The weapons are indeed bone, but poor lighting required flash, which seems to have washed out all the shading (either that or the "auto-fix" thing did). They are the same IRL as the Avenger weapons.

I'm having a bad run with spray cans in general... My Dull-Coat leaked dramatically, and the wholesaler and my hobby shop are out (so I'm reduced to borrowing from a mate), bad batch of undercoat, and the new stuff, while great on the test models, clogged as soon as I'd gotten the Rangers re-undercoated (at least I'd gotten them done first biggrin.gif), despite clearing the nozzle after every use.

Ah well, such is life. Polishing off the Rangers and Karandas today, got a few bits of highlighting to go on them, then it's on to Reapers, I think (gotta check the priority list biggrin.gif). As the Rangers look pretty much the same as they do in the above pics, I'm not gonna re-take pics, but Karandas will feature here soon, tommorow if not tonight.

Cheers,
Dent.

Well, oops. Seems I forgot to update this thread.

Ah well, better late then never.

First up, seems I forgot to take pics of Karandas, but here's Maugan Ra instead.

One of the Reaper squads. The other squad is much the same, just bone tipped launchers and the Exarch has the other weapon option.
IPB Image

The first Wraithlord

A Guardian Squad, with Support weapon

And lastly, a couple WIP shots of the second Wraithlord

Your Asurman is one of the better ones I've ever seen, nice job.
DentedHead
OK, update with the converted Wraithlord painted.

And a 60mm objective base. The guardian's holding a fist full of recovered spirit stones, but has gotten himself pinned by a bonesword...

loving the 'enviroment' that your basing and objective marker are conveying Dent,

the trapped gaurdian is a great idea

Dent did you undercoat the models when it was raining, rained recently or just humid? if so its not the coat its cos of the moisture. Ive had the same problems.

Nah, I had issues with several batches of model undercoated with that can, it was definatly the undercoat I used. Since changing brands (White Knight FTW), I've not had an issue. During the winter I keep a heater going in my workshop when I know I'll be spraying stuff.

Da Smas
Oh ok. what was the original brand?
DentedHead
I used to use "Fiddly Bits" but they seem to have changed their formula. Now it's pure crap in a can. I also tried the Dulux Matt Black, and it worked great... once. There's nothing you can do to stop the nozzle clogging. I tried clearing it, soaking it in thinners, even got a different noozzle and tried again... nothing worked. So White Knigh it is from here on for me. I just wish their colours were as good.
