Does anyone remember a GW paint called "worm" purple?

I am looking at a really old 'Eavy Metal painting guide (published in 1994) which mentions this paint.

However I cant find it in the current GW paint range.

I am guessing that maybe Warlock purple or Tentacle pink have replaced it in the current GW paint range, but Im not sure.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I have a pot sitting here in front of me... but have neither Warlock Purple or Tentacle Pink to compare it to.

EDIT - I also have a pot of Liche Purple which is essentially the same colour, just deeper.

Is it in the paint company matcher thingy?

I have a pot, it's kind of a greyish purple.

I dont think so, I cant see it on the GW website.

Now that is interesting, I thought Worm purple was more of a pinkish purple, rather than a grey / violet type of purple.

Heres a few more obscure paints: Amethyst purple, and Imperial purple. Does anyone remember those and what they might have been renamed to in the current GW range?

I think amethyst was a metallic purple.

From the online matcher, I agree Liche purple is quite similar.

I have imperial purple, it is darker than liche purple, and I'd suggest has no comparison.

If used in a gradual blend from black to liche purple you wouldn't easily notice the difference from a 50/50 black/liche mix wink.gif

Imperial Purple is quite dark, and it has a match in Vallejo Game Colour: Royal Purple.

I have some Imperial Purple. It is a very dark purple. I use it for shading Liche Purple. As Rojo said Royal Purple in the Vallejo Game Colour range is the colour equivalent.

many of the old paints have no comparison in the current range. which is a shame because most of the old ones were really nice. imperiwal purple is my favourite one.

generally you just have to match with mixing or inking/washing.
or use paint ranges from different companies.

Thanks for the info guys.

it is a bit strange they dropped some of those old paints.

For example I still have some blood angel orange, bad moons yellow, and even Fire Dragon crimson - which is kind of a mix of red and liche purple.

Anyway thanks I will have a look at those alternate brands and see what they are like.

My local gaming shop is selling the discontinued paints real cheap, if you like I can look for.
