We have a problem with door prizes. We end up with alot of dead stock- due to the diverse range of minitures and armies I guess this is unavoidable, to a point. To clear this out we are running an auction at the next meet of a variety of stuff that has been there for a while. So bring your spare change.
Cost for Door Prizes is relevant. To be sustainable we must match this against profit per meet- with birthday pricks, and three draws per meet we need 120 odd DP per year. $5 cost per prize is $600 per year, if we go to $10 it is $1200+ per year. Under the current structure of prizes this is not sustainable at a higher cost.
We have several options- Two draws, a seperating the draws into a budget box and a premium box, because I recognise that an experianced gamer is looking for something other than a 10y old kid. Less draws per meet. New stuff/second hand stuff. I need to know what you expect/want from the DP's.
Give me your thoughts/suggestions.

Wasn't it only 1 prize per meeting years ago? Also, I don't get your budget/premium idea and are you saying 1200/year is the maximum or too high?

We do one members raffle a month, and the door prize concept is a random raffle for anyone whom walks in, signs in and pays(excepting first timers). We have been running three a meet. We are now looking at switching to newer models, but this will cost more. Around $450 from memory was spent on DP's last financial year, this will rise significantly if we go in the newer direction. I can't see 1200 being sustainable. If we maintain good numbers and low rent we should be able afford more, but we plan to review profits and prizes on a 3 monthly basis at this stage.
Again, let me know your thoughts.

I like the current structure simon. I don't think there is much benefit to going to more expensive models at the risk of overreaching costs. The 2-4 plastics models works well, and there is usually something for everyone up there.
