Just thought I'd share a pic of my Ork Battlewagon biggrin.gif. It's almost complete, just got the orks to paint and put in place. I've taken photos of it from in the sprue right up to this point. Just got to finish the orks and I can move back to the monolith, hehehe.

How did you get that so early?
Wulfen
Some independant stockists get a 'black box' (what GW stores get) to help drive sales. I believe you need to be reaching a certain number of sales, im not to sure.
Mortislegion
I'd say ebay, but wulfen is right... The box also came with storm boyz. But I didn't realise it until I looked at the sprue closer. Just thought they were crew for the wagon.
Chaplain_Fortis
Yeah, Indies already have some sprues.

Is the rust that obvious... I'm leaving my mark on the hobby, lol. I resisted the urge to rust the necrons and the monolith... It was hard, I settled for just rusting the bit that sits inside it. You can't have enough rust.

If yo went bad moons, find a flat yellow spray undercoat and use that as the base. Much easier.
Mortislegion
The citadel foundations are ok for that as well with their spray gun. I painted the Aobr dreadnought iyanden darksun and then golden yellow (aobut 1000 layers). The yellow comes up brilliantly with a heap of metal chips all over the place.

Believe me Paul i would have used Matts spray gun if we could have found the hose connection. I think i would be done by know if we found the damn thing. Yeah i could tell it was your battlewagon just by the rust. How did you do it?

I started with Tausept Ochre and am currently working my way up throughGolden Yellow and hopefully into Bad Moon Yellow by tomorrow. Things starting to look like a taxi\bee.

What is it with the spray guns losing bits. I lost the regulator when spraying outside, I turned for a second and it was gone. Cost me $20 to get a new one. The worst thing was the gun wasn't mine. I'll use Tausept or Iyanden, depending on what I grab first.

Ok, I basecoated in scorched brown. Then I stippled on vomit brown in a random fashion. Then I stippled around that blazing orange. By this stage the brown and the orange give the metal an oxidized look and you could leave it there as it is. I then stipple on mithril silver, bolt gun metal, or chainmail, whatever comes to hand first. This is the tricky bit as you can over do the silver, if that happens, I then go for the "paint" of the vehicle in those areas that are too silvery. I figure if the paints just coming off it's going to have shiny metal in that area until it rusts. I went with stippling on mechrite red, (the foundations do this well). I was going to go with Iyanden to give it a worn yellow but went with the red, cause everyone needs that extra inch...

It's taken me a few goes on different things with the rust, but now I find I know how it should look. When I first did it on the armour of my undead, some of it came out wrong, now I've got it down I think.

Can't wait to see how yours has come out. It'd look brilliant in yellow. Go with the taxi, there's enough checker decals to deck it out like a new york taxi, hehehe.
