Was wondering if anyone at GROTS plays either Battletech or the Mechwarrior: Age of Destruction (and onwards) games. I have a sizeable enough collection to field up to 3 decent forces (hmm 500 points plus?) for MW: AoD and would be willing to bring these along to have some games. I've also got the starter rules etc for this but havent played in a long time and never learnt the full extent of the rules.
Unfortunately i dont have any Classic Battletech miniatures, i do however have the majority of the rather vast collection of sourcebooks etc. If someone is willing to learn to play this i will endeavour to get my hands on some CBT miniatures and i can send you the rules etc.
So if someone knows how to play or wants to learn with me hit me!
Cheers,
Anthony.

Wouldn't mind giving Classic Battletech another go, haven't played it in a while but do have some of the old rules sitting around here. Don't have any miniature, a rather few of the cardboard mech counters and a few mapsheets if that's of any use, never did get a chance to play the mapless miniature version though.

That'd be awesome. Im currently trying to track down any Catalyst Game Labs distributors here in Aus to see if i can get the CBT Starter boxset they re-released. I have the Total Warfare rulebook in pdf format, might see f i can print it off at work depending on its size etc. There are some differing rules for miniature full 3d version of the game but i really dont know what they are. There is a book that has the adaptations that need to be made for full 3d, as well as using MW miniatures as CBT mini's so ill also see if i can get my hands on that!
If i can get any of this stuff it would be great to have someone who is willing to give it a shot with me, so ill definitely hit you up on the offer some stage in the future.

I'm pretty sure Mind Games in the city had a copy of the re-release of the CBT Starter set (the one with the mini's), last time I checked they still had it. I don't have any of the newer books myself, an old copy of the Master Rules, one of the previous starter sets and a set of the rather old Reinforcement sets. Not too sure as to what book the 3d stuff is in really. Anyway sure, give me a shout when you want a game, I can probably bring along my current stuff if you want a go at the map based version at all.

Indeed Mind Games did have a copy! Cheers for that i went and trekked through the rain for an hour and a half to get it yesterday biggrin.gif
The starter set is actually really quite good from the looks, and the 1/285th scale mini's are designed to be played on both the hex maps in place of the counters and in the 3d setting. As for the 3d conversion rules i've found which book they are in and have a pdf version of it. This book also includes the conversion rules for using the MW: DA mini's, but i'll have to see if i can find the data sheets for the mechs.
So if anyone wants a game im going to start bringing along the intro box set to grots each week, and if we can get a few games goign and being a regular thing i'll bring in some MW: DA mini's to expand the game and start playing some 3d games!
Cheers,
Anthony.

Scary, scary, Sold off most of my old Battletech stuff at arc but I do still have a heap of mechs from age of destruction.
I will bring them down one day soon.
Only got three fantasy battles lined up for next meet.
Like I will have time for anything else.
