6 confirmed/pending starters are:

Andrew Casey - Pending
Luke Brown - Confirmed
Alun Gallie - Confirmed
Chris Appleby - Confirmed
Andrew Penn - Confirmed
Tom Damin - Confirmed

TOURNAMENT DETAILS:

DATE: 14th of November

Location: Tom's House, Mawson Lakes (close to a reasonable ammount of members, plenty of room to crash if neccesary as well) ... this is up for negotiation if others are keen to host. I can quite easily get 4 tables in my place though, no trouble.

Initial round draw will be randomised, then draw will follow tradition BP ranked matching system.

As far as tourney set up goes I am thinking not too much variation with points sizes, but 3 different levels to keep it timely and maneagable.

Cost:
Not sure how much money is left in the Inner Sanctum coffers, but would there be enough for a small perpetual trophy for this one?

I am thinking $15, that covers Pizza and Trophy (I think), I will provide softies but BYO Beers.

Timetable:

8:45 -
Start.

9AM -
Round 1:
- 1200 points

11AM -
Round 2:
- 1500 points

1PM -
Lunch

1:30PM -
Round 3:
- 1500 points

3:30PM -
Round 4:
- 1800 points

6PM -
Wrap up and results.

Ground rules for armies:

- Standard force organisation chart
- Build a 1200, 1500 and 1800 pt list with whatever Codex you choose, but it must be from the SAME codex

Missions:
Missions will be selected at the beginning of the day by rolling them up from a list. The 4 missions are known, but what points level we will play them at will be kept un-known and random until the day. That way you must bring a versatile list to each points level we are playing.

A.
- Annihilation, Spearhead
- Massacre objective: Win by 3+ Kill Points
B.
- Seek and Destroy, Dawn of War
- Massacre objective: Get both Objectives and win on Kill Points
C.
- Capture and Control, Pitched Battle
- Massacre objective: Win by 3+ Objectives
D.
- Round 5 Mission from TerraCon (choose your own objective in secret of all types, reveal in round 4)
- Massacre objective: Complete both Primary and Secondary, and the opponent completes neither

Scoring:
Loss - 0
Draw - 1
Win - 3
Massacre - 5

Winner:
Most points wins. In the event of a tie, then most Massacres, if still a tie, its just a tie smile.gif

I like having the points for a Win elevated slightly, as this mini tourney is all about the gameplay.

A Massacre result is when you win and have completed the Massacre objective.

No points for Sports, Comp or Painting... this is just to see who is the best at 40hammers smile.gif

Most likely we will order Pizza's in mid way through round 2.

This job gest given to the first person to have finished there game, and LOST armata_PDT_36.gif
Buddha
Ohh, and maybe a $10 entry fee, which covers Pizza delivered for lunch and maybe a small trophy?

No need to worried about prizes, this one is for bragging rights biggrin.gif
Casey
Hook me up.

November is ######in sh1t though, I have my kids birthday and Schoolies to deal with.

Please tell me you were thinking the 27th or 28th of November...
Buddha
28th of November could be good.

How about everyone lets me know if they are free on this date and lets go from there.

Tom
Nzarra
late Nov would be good - I suggested a Xmas gaming do at the BBQ and this would really fill the niche - beer and pizza and good gaming

have you considered an escalation event - 1st game 1200, 2nd 1500, 3rd 1750, 4th 2000 ?

Buddha
Escalation sounds good!

Perhaps 1250, 1500, 1750, 2000. Could be a late-ish evening, but still, Pizza biggrin.gif Definately keen to keep it to a 1-dayer.

BBQ and etc sounds good also, but I want something to decide who is the best at mandollies for Inner Sanctum in 09 biggrin.gif
Harvey Birdman
Sorry Buddha - that trophy is mine already.

If you don't count painting, comp, sports or battle points.

Other than that, I rock.

Though keen to play anyway.
CAPT DAMAGE
Top idea Tom. armata_PDT_37.gif

Is the 28th a Saturday or Sunday?

Both me and Casper sometimes have a problem with Saturdays.

Cheers, Damage.

Buddha
28th is a Saturday, but I can change it to a Sunday at a pinch,

Was only thinking Saturday for the whole 'might go late and extra beverages consumed later' factor armata_PDT_11.gif
CAPT DAMAGE
Saturday is a good idea, when you put it like that. [beer good]

If I cant get it off, i will just take one of the 30 plus sickies they owe me. armata_PDT_37.gif

Nzarra
the other thing is with a smaller group and all being reasonably competent players we should get through the games quite quickly.

1.45 for 1250
2.15 for 1500
2.30 for 1750
2.45 for 2000

9 hrs - give or take - 9 or 10 am start - 7pm ish wrap up which suits a beer and pizza event
Buddha
First post updated.
Harvey Birdman
I would totally drag out my last turn. No way I'm calling for Pizza.

"I know I only have 4 Grots and a Warbuggy left - and the Grots are running. But I need to plan this right!"
Nzarra
sounds like a plan

Buddha
Ok,

First post updated with details.
CAPT DAMAGE
Sounds good, Tom.

I think that Saturday is the day before i go on annual leave for 3 weeks. (Wedding inter state).

So i can have a couple of beers and roll some dice.

I will take my Space Pups for a walk. (Next year being the year of the Wolf). armata_PDT_37.gif

Cheers,
Damage.

Sorry guys, i'm not gonna be able to turn up to this one.

I'll most likely be a Western Australian by then sad.gif
Buddha
Serious Michael? You are leaving us? ohmy.gif
dominus nox
Unfortunately. sad.gif

Works giving me the flick, so i thought I'd use the change of job to move closer to my boy.

Still sucks to be leaving though. armata_PDT_09.gif
Nzarra
hmm, posted a reply here and it has not appeared

Unfortunately I am away on that date - we are off on holiday from 17th to 28th - returning in evening so very sadly I am a no for that date.

Michael - sorry to hear that - might have to try to catch up for one more before you go

Buddha
Sorry to hear Michael sad.gif

Ok well how bout be bring it forward to the 7th or 14th weekends?

Show of hands for availability on the 3 weekends of November please?

If we can't have you all, we will just have to get as many as possible.
Nzarra
both potentially work for me - probably preference 14th
Casey
14th for me too. Or the 28th.
CAPT DAMAGE
The 14th would work off me too. armata_PDT_37.gif
Buddha
Ok, so 4/8 are good for the 14th.

Waiting on:

Casper
IronHead
zero
Dominus (will you still be in SA on the 14th mate?)
zero
Just fix a date Tom and I will most likely be able to wrangle it.

Escalation of points sounds good, almost like "ye olde Shippycon sideboarde."

I liked you suggestion of 0 points for a loss, 1 point for a draw, 3 points for a win.

On top of this I'd like to see 5 points for a massacre rather than the bonus points.

Some armies struggle to get the bonus points and some excel at getting them.

It is pretty easy to distinguish between a win and a massacre with the standard missions.

The choose your own adventure mission is also awesome.

Sounds good.
Buddha
Good points Chris,

Massacre would be for example be:

Kill Points: Win by 3+ Kill Points
2 Objectives: Get both Objectives and win on Kill Points
d3+3 Objectives: Get all Objectives
Choose your own: Complete both Primary and Secondary, and the opponent completes neither

?
CAPT DAMAGE
Getting 3 more Kill Points than the other person. Can be done.

Taking both ojective can be done and if you have done that, than you SHOULD of get more Kill Points.

BUT if there is 5 or 6 Objectives and you have only 3 or 4 Scoring units, CAN'T be done??

Why not make it like the Kill Point mission and if you have 3 more Objectives it is a Massacre.

Ok, done, I will change it to 'win by 3 objectives or more' for Massacre.
Buddha
Allright,

Initial post updated with missions.
Casey
For the extra points levels, do you reckon we should have to keep the same 'core' and just add extra to it?

Just thinking out loud, but I feel it should work.
Buddha
Yeah I was thinking that Casey, but it makes it too difficult... for alot of codex's finding 1 or 2 units that fit exactly into 300 point sideboards can be pretty difficult too.

3 different lists with the same army book would be the easiest solution.

I guess you can look at it as a 'campaign', showing different stagings of conflict accross different theatres, where the same army isnt neccesarily receiving reinforcements but whole different sections may be used... or people might just add 300 points to the relatively same list tongue.gif
Buddha
Ohh PS, can you do the 14th?

IronHead, Casper and Dominus also to confirm?
Buddha
Actually, thoughts:

Because we can pretty much tailor our lists depending on the points costs, for the first 3 missions I propose we use the same 3 missions as detailed above, but, after lists are in and on the day, we randomise which of the 3 missions gets played when.

That way we dont just make low kill-point 1200 point armies, and then objective grabbing armies at 1500 with no fear of kill points.

So before game 1 we roll a d3 and choose the mission, and then before game 2 we 4+ to decide which out of the other 2 left will be played.

Fair?
dominus nox
So far my leave date is near the start of November. So I don't think i'll be able to make it at all, which is horrible as this idea seems like fun. sad.gif
Harvey Birdman
14th is awesome.
I reckon I've got 14th and 28th off work - so please not the 7th! LOL
Otherwise Any Given Sunday is good.
Harvey Birdman
Nox: you shall be remembered fondly.
Good thing you'll still be on here.
I would miss your lulz.
Buddha
14th is about to get locked in then.

Casper dont talk about him like hes dead mate! Hopefully he can still do a CJ and pop over for a tourney or two.

Michael there is allways a couch to crash on at my place mate.

Tom
IronHead
14th is the Shiz.
Nox: Need to get ur trophy and prize to u dude!

Sub-Topic: We need to all get together before michael leaves and get rip roaring blind blotto drunk armata_PDT_05.gif

I 100% agree with this smile.gif
Buddha
I also concur. What is your departure date Michael?

Ok, so 14th is locked in.

Put it in your calendar now gents.

Unfortunately that means Chris C and Michael can't be available, but I think its our best bet for attendances

So this means 6 Players:
Andrew Casey
Luke Brown
Alun Gallie
Chris Appleby
Andrew Penn
Tom Damin

We can either just run with 6, or I have no objections finding a couple more dance partners, as long as we recruit in 2's to make even numbers.

The original 8 are definitely he main contributors, and I am happy to just have an easy 6 player tourney with the crew lists above. Will actually work out nicely, we will play all but 1 opponent basically.

All good?

Tom
Nzarra
Why no Chris C - he said in previous post 14th was ok for him ? Change of plan ?
Nzarra
If he is definately out then perhaps run with 6 - if not find one more dancer
Buddha
Yeah Alun, Chris contacted me saying he couldn't make the 14th, but if it worked with everyone else to go ahead.

Bit of a bummer, but I think this is the best we can do.
Casey
Yeah, sorry dudes, it's my daughters disco night that night. Need to be home by 5ish to do decorations and that sort of stuff.

I'll still pop down in the morning for a look-see though.
Buddha
Bam, first post updated with FINAL details.

Please all reply via PM or here to confirm your attendance.

Cheers,

Tom

PS; you are all going to lose tongue.gif
Nzarra
As confirmed as is possible - date is in calendar and I intend to attend
zero
I can tentatively confirm Tom.

It all depends on how moody the mother of my children decides to be on that day.

If I have my kids on that weekend I can get Vicky to look after Kyle and bring Caleb and set him up in a corner with a games system.

Yeah?
