not that far away - any info ? names/numbers/buildup/hype/trashtalking ??
Stormie
Southern Inquisition 2009 will very much be in the tradition of past years.

There will be the usual blister pack prize as a minimum, free lunch and a narrative tying the games together. Martin is working on this and the stats for the "Inquisitor" that all armies will use (choice of 4 different I believe). More on this as things are finalised.

Armies of 1500 points are to be from any current Codex - plus players will need an additional Inquisitor model, or something/someone that will use the stats provided. This model should be on the standard sized round base.

I will be at Mechanicon a couple of weeks before and can collect entry fees then if people wish.

Is this some form of invite only or more of a club event?

I simply ask as compared too Mech 09 and even recently Northern Heresy there is next too no advertisement of this event! No build up or talk.
The only thing I do know about it is the date due too the email sent out and the previous reply in this thread.

I want too show my support too SA events but I can't if there's little too no info or any sense of anticipation building up too the event.

Looking forward too getting a good dollop of info at Mech 09 or elsewhere
Nzarra
Not invite and not restricted to club - I think it is just the Southern events have been on the calender for a few years and so are established so tends to be less hype.

I have done a couple of Southern events (1 40K and 1 FoW) and both are good relaxed days out (one day events)

Stormie
Spot on Nzarra.

The Southern Wargamers tournys have been part of the calender since before I got involved in tournaments and therefore the regular players know what to expect.

That said we are actively looking to enlist new players to the scene, which is why we encourage the relaxed friendly atmosphere, the free lunch and the minimum prize of a blister pack for all players.

We are restricted by space considerations to under thirty players but its fair to say that generally most of the players are not club members.

We deliberately do not go in for detailed player packs and special rules. Keep it simple is our motto and as far as composition goes any army that is fair, balanced and fun to play with and against will do well.

Hope to see you there

I'll take that offer thanks Norm - saves the hassle of arranging a cheque. smile.gif

Hi folks

Sorry for not getting the info on the site before - I have been rather consumed with my daughter in Intensive Care for the past 3 1/2 weeks.

Anyway Southern Inquisition as usual as per our event schedule we published in October last year.

1,500 Points - standard codexes + Inquisitor model on standard base as Norm has said.

Martin & Norm are putting things together, I'll collect the cash and organise prizes & lunch as usual.

So payments either at the club tomorrow or cheque / money order to M.Richardson and posted to 10 King Street, Brighton SA 5048.

I will wait until Thursday at 1700 before I finalise the prizes etc, if you have any hassels getting the entry fee to me before then, please give me a call on 0415 394 717 - if the phone is off try again an hour later (phone swicthed off whilst I am in the hospital).

So in answer to the prevous posts - all welcome but payment required by cut off Thursday 1700.
$40 entry includes lunch - soft drinks & bottled water on sale at the event for $1-00.

Cheers - Mike

One week to go - Im excited biggrin.gif

Cant actually fit my army in my carry case - sure I'll figure something out. rolleyes.gif

Wee bit of painting/gluing to do, nothing too taxing though.
Stormie
Mission sheets and scoresheets all done - Martin just has to photocopy them now.

My guard all ready to go - has 40% more infantry than my Mechanicon army and flame templates have increased from zero to 7.

Looking forward to it.

It is a 4 game single day tourny

By the way I should remind people that as this is a 5th edition tourny you will need objective markers. We will have a limited number available for those who forget.
Nzarra
Thanks to Martin and crew for a relaxed, enjoyable days gaming. Thanks to my opponents (3 new ones and Baney who I had not played for at least 7 years) for 4 great games.

Well done to the Sanctum boys for flying the flag high again.

First Overall - Michael Knight - Dark Eldar (yes, you read it right, Dark Eldar)
Second Overall - Andy Penn - Ork Speed freaks (no, no nob bikers)
Third Overall - Nick Hardy - Guard (Catachan Ork Hunters)

Best Sports - Nathan Bane (Demons)
Best Army - Alun Gallie (Marines)
Best General - Brian Craig (Nids)
Special Award (can't remember exactly what it was called, basically decided by TO on sport/comp) - Sam (sorry Sam not sure of your surname) (Marines)

Think that was the major awards - apologies if any errors
18 players I think - good mix of armies

Demons - 1
Dark Eldar - 1
Orks - 1
Chaos Marines - 1+
IG - 2+
Tau - 2
Eldar - 2
Marines - 4+

Cypher
Plus one Nid army and one Necron army. wink.gif

And +1 to what Alun said - a good show all around. Cheers to Martin and Mike for putting these events on armata_PDT_37.gif
Stormie
I'll get Martin to post the full results.

Congrats to the prizewinners and my opponents (the games I had against Andy Penn & Nic Hardy were rippers -as usual). Both games had dramatic swings in fortune and the results were in doubt right to the final final dice rolls.

If you have any feedback on the missions let me know - as Martin was interstate for work prior to the tourny I created the storyline and special rules for each mission on his behalf. This obviously gave me an unfair advantage on the day and vaulted me to the dizzy heights of 13th place!!! biggrin.gif

Thanks for a great day.

Good work Martin. Thanks for running the show. armata_PDT_37.gif

I too would like to thank my opponents.

Baney: I will one day win a game vs demons. (I have had 4 games vs demons and yesterdays game was the closest I have come to beating a demon list.)
Norm: What can be said "Top game as always"
Chris: You have to go the list with Norm's name, of people i have to play when i get a chance.

And a big thanks to Alun for getting a car load of us down south and home again. armata_PDT_37.gif

Top stuff Boyz.

See Ya next time.

I'll get Martin to post the full results.

Also if you could get him to send the results to mark @ gosfordgamers.net it will make it easier for me to add them to the 40K Tournament Rankings.
