Had a cracking game of Great War a few weeks back here at the NWS club in Perth. I built the terrain boards for late war/ Somme area and this was their first outing. Rather more than a small skirmish (as was the original intention) as we had 2500 points of British and allied French attacking around 1000 points of Germans holding a couple lines of shellholes and a ruined mill (courtesy of Hutch at late notice). The outcome? One of the British Brigades was completely wiped out and the second still trudging across no mans land. Although the British did manage a breakthrough it was quickly contained with swift counter-attacks. The Germans paid a a high price with half of their units destroyed..but at end of play the line still held. I had great fun playing Stormtroopers who are awesome in defensive roles. Twice a unit of six managed to win combats against units more than twice their numerical strength! Anyway, some pics..

Mostly Renegade and Great War, though we had some foundry as well (called them the hobbit brigade as they are tiny compared to the others). Germans were a mixture of late war stormtroopers and early war Prussian Guards and Seebattalion! (need to paint more).

In the next stage hope to get a town and a canal section made.
