Finished the Zoraida box I bought on the weekend (sad since I bought my levi&alice nearly 2 months ago and they're barely undercoated).

I thought the hag herself was going to be difficult to paint but I think she's turned out fairly well.

I based one of her dolls to be my voodoo doll. I think the dolls are the best models in the whole box.

Nearly picked this box up today!
Think you've tipped me over the edge.

They look great. The detail on the bases is fantastic.
But yeah, I wasn't surprised you picked up the saggy boobie chick...

You know you love it.

p.s. I beat Viv again... after failing to kill my Voodoo Doll because he pulled a Black Joker for damage, my Voodoo Doll pulled a Red Joker on a 3 negative twist flip, followed with an additional severe damage flip, and stabbed poor Bishop in the eye with a needle.

the grass on zoraida's base is totally awesome! i've been using a mixture of natural and green dyed twine which gives nice colours but it's a little twisted and teased, not straight like you've got. can i ask what you're using, it looks really natural and perfect for the job.

Weeelll... It's just cheap paintbrush biggrin.gif I buy packs of large cheap stiff bristle paint brushes from $2 shops and chop them up (i.e. grip a little clump, chop with scissors, glue to base). To keep them upright I use super-glue and put a dab on the bristles before i put them on the base to keep the bottom stiff, for spread out ones I use PVA and just stick straight to the base (then you can tease them a bit).

What I really like about this method is that you can make the bristles as long or short as you like, and you get slightly different effect from using the tips of the bristles as opposed to the chopped off bits (more grassy vs more reedy/wheaty)

For the colour on these guys I used a brown wash and some green ink at the base, which the bristles will naturally suck upward from the bottom giving that gradiated look.

Nice. i like it. I'm gonna use it.

Having the wash concentrate at the bottom of the bunch is an especially nice touch.
